Let's see, should I point out factually, that 'SonyEricsson' is not a type of phone, but actually a mamnufacturer of phones, and has over a dozen different models in each region, available; or should I make a smart-ass quip about how SonyEricsson set's itself apart from all other manufacturers by only have one, single phone in their entire line-up to make selection easier? You pick. Dr. von Quack!

Lets see, should I point out factually that the "topic" and "topic desciption" actually form part of the post, or should I make a smart ass quip about how you seem to set yourself apart from all the other members by being the only member who doesnt read either? No, you pick. FTI the thread heading reads: Sony Ericsson K700i My humble apologies for not repeating myself.

As I have put on this forum many a time do not buy phones out of MBK in fact I would stay away from buying phones from BKK/thailand full stop if I was in the far east. If you want to buy cheap phones PM and I I will tell you where to buy from. Who's buying the beers.

I purchased a rather nice Nokia phone for my tgf. New with sim card for $85. The talk key we discovered would work sometimes and sometimes would not work. Rather aggrivating. Took the phone and my tg back to the shop the next day and the guy worked on the keypad a bit and did make it a little better but it was still unreliable. I was insisting on a new phone but tgf was okay with taking that crap phone back. Guess it was the not complaining part of being Thai. Well, talked to her the other day and phone works sometimes, doesn't work sometimes. Well, it was up to her and she chose to keep it. I'll just call and talk to her mom. LS

No, it does not - at least the way most people read the forum. When using the 'Last 25', it reads 'Sony Ericsson' When using the 'Latest Posts' it reads 'Sony Ericsson' alternatively: When using 'Search' for 'SONY' in Subject headers, it does show your *SUB* header of K700i. When browsing the 'Tech' index, it does show your *SUB* header of K700i. I would venture that most folks use the first two methods to assess new messages on the forum, and hardly anyone (I'd even go so far as to say 'no one') uses the remaining two methods to find new posts. Considering that no one else in the rest of the thread addressed your specific phone model need, I'd venture by a stretch that I'm pretty much 'right on' with my assessment. So, it all boils down to that you simply don't know how the forum works, or how people use it -- which isn't really an indictment, as for a first time poster, adding explicatory information in the sub-header would seem to make logical sense, and until you actually see your final post, in context of a 'Last 25' or some such, you have no idea that this information is kinda not readily available to most browsing the forum's new messages. Happened to me too, the first few times, to be fair (now I just use the sub-header to 'hide' naughty messages). No harm, no foul. Dr. von Quack!

I am guessing but in an educated way as a friend has one and got it for about 15K. So my guess is new it will be around there, maybe as low as 12K. And there are probably used ones available at MBK for 8-10K

Would tend to agree with Daffy that putting important information in the subheader is counter productive. Depending on how you access the thread, the subheading is or isn't visible. Add to that, that you are requesting some help, people shouldn't have to 'search' for the information to help you out. Put it in the subheading, but put it in the body of the post as well - how can it hurt?? Further, you will also get the 'smart-ass' single word replies from those who have nothing better to do and throw in a post to make themself feel important. Funny that it would seem that for some members one has to ask whether they know the price AND to say what it is. My guess is that the member in question wouldn’t of had a clue when that post was made. UK Shagga said: "...stay away from buying phones from BKK/thailand full stop...If you want to buy cheap phones PM and I I will tell you where to buy from" Why don't you expand on this a bit further instead of referring it to PM?? I can't work out how this helps other members who come across this thread in their research. I think a statement to the effect of "don't buy anything in the far east" could be qualified further. Especially when you say don’t buy in Thailand when the forum is all about “thailand”. Care to elaborate on this thread to help others who might be thinking the same?? Cheers
