This depends on what kind of website you are looking to create?

- blog? Get something like iBlog or BlogStudio, in combination with a dot-mac account.

- personal site? Grab Dreamweaver or GoLive, and use any of te predefined templates.

- Super simple personal site, with pictures, etc...? Get a dot-mac subscription, and use the 'Homepage' tools.

A good place to start your journey would be here:
http://www.versiontracker.com/macosx/
and
http://forums.macnn.com/

First site gives you access and reviews to about 33,000+ plus programs for Macs. While the other gives you access to a great cross section of the Mac community of users.

And, if you're asking from BKK then you will want visit either or both of Pantip Plaza and the Fortune Town IT Plaza (3rd floor and up) which is just outside of the exit #2 at Phra Ram 9 MRT station.

Stay the f*** away from FrontPage - you will do yourself a favor.

It's an abandoned product, and very badly supported.

GoLive (Adobe) or DreamWeaver (Macromedia) are far better choices, if you are looking for drag-n-drop publishing.

Well, I've just taken the plunge and bought myself an Imac from that place in Siam Discovery. The price of the original model was cut by around 18000 baht because the new model is due in the shops in Thailand next week. If anyone is in the market, they had about 4 machines left as of last Friday.

I love it. It's a thing of beauty. I'm sure it does all those computer things also, but who cares. It's beautiful to look at

Only my second ever mac. My first was the original Mac Classic with the tiny b/w screen, about 15 years ago.

How times have changed since then.

Agreed, stay away from Frontpage. It injects stuff that is MS specific and won't run properly on non IE browsers. It's fairly intuitive to use, but will leave some of your readers in the shitcan.

You need a website tool that is browser neutral, so that users with MS, MacOS, IE, Netscape, Firefox, Opera, etc. can all enjoy your site. The ones mentioned above are good, might also want to check out AceHTML from Visicomm. Easy to use, and last I remember, had a free version (version 5) that worked okay as a starting point.

GoLive has a slightly less steep learning curve if your main graphics program is Photoshop. Although with the coming fusion of Adobe and Macromedia, I'm sure Dreamweaver will eventually be just as well integrated with PS as GoLive currently is.

Just found the bloody easiest and most convenient web site creation tool out for Mac OS X:

ShutterBug

Check out the publisher's site, and check out the examples - it's $34 (US), but well worth it - in terms of turn-key creation of with simplicity, this is it.

I'm very impressed!
