No experience, yet. But I'll bet it's referring to DTAC's Enhanced Data for GSM Evolution ("EDGE") technology on their network. And, I think they forgot to mention the purchase of the modem card in their price quote.
That Bt999 is most likely the monthly fee for access. You would still require either a modem or phone enabled for the appropriate technology. The hardware will set you back anywhere's from Bt 5k-16k.
