I have been having a discussion with a mate who is convinced his decoder sends a signal back to the Sat when he votes on Sky TV.
I say it is impossible as the LNB is a receiver not a transmitter.
How does it work?
Is it just a flow of data recorded by the Sat when you activate the decoder by selecting the associated button?

Telephone socket and line for the interactive services and e-mail. SkyDigital lower price includes the proviso that consumers connect their decoder to a telephone line. The decoder will record viewing habits/data and then send the information to SkyDigital. (one method...)
U are correct...the normal LNB is not used for transmit functions. There are Sat ISP's that will install different Tx/Rx systems but I am not sure about Sky. Here, Orbit provides this type of system.

Yes
I already know about IPTV (with the phone line) and have IPstar at my house for internet, but this interactive thing is buging me
How does it work?
They ask you to vote, you press the 'red' button and the vote is registered, but you have not sent a signal as you only have an LNB
