I'd like to be able to make phone calls and not have the caller ID information show up. In the US, you dial *67 to do that. How do you do it in Thailand? Does it vary from SIM card to SIM card? I found one other topic like this using search but no solutions. TIA

Calls from payphones usually transmit the caller ID of the payphone. If you have a calling card based overseas like an AT&T card, you can dial the local access number in Thailand, then after your enter your card number, it asks you the number to call. Enter the number as if you were calling it from the USA (like 011-66-x-xxx-xxxx). It will not transmit the caller id. Try a test call to a mobile of a friend, just to make sure. Of course this will cost more, but your whereabouts will be protected.

It's an option in your phone - nothing to do with your SIM card.

No, it is to do with the network settings. Even phones with the option cant use it in Thailand.

I am with abrak on this. I also have a Nokia phone that has it. But it doesn't work. The call will go through but will show the number regardless of the phone settings. Or else the network gives me a message that the operation is not allowed. B.E.
