Can anybody tell me if you can send SMS messages via an email address to a cell phone in Thailand? DTAC preferrably but it really does not matter which provider. For example, I have Cingular in the states and if some one would like to send an SMS to my mobile, they can send an email to xxxx@mycingular.com (xxx is where my phone number would be) and that message would be sent as an SMS message to my phone. Thanks for the help!

I also would like an email -> SMS service for my next "tourist SIM card" when I'm traveling in Thailand. I'd want email generated by computers in the states to be able to buzz my phone. [As if I would enjoy this while travelling.] I clicked on the references, so far, in this thread. There are lots of "internet solutions" using ICQ or web pages to send SMS, but I didn't see anything involving SMTP gateways to a Thai cell provider SMS. Is anyone aware of this specific service? Yeah, I agree lots of internet solutions but no direct email to SMS phone solution. I asked my TG to call DTAC and find out. I'll let you know if she finds out anything.
