i'm curious to know if I make a call from the states to a mobile phone in thailand, will the recipient have to pay additional charges? some girl gave me her # & asked me to stay in touch & assured me that she doesn't pay for incoming calls even if it's international. i'd like to follow up & stay in touch but would hate for her to get hit with a crazy phone bill. thx.

wow, you are way too worried that little lass will have to spend a dime
wonder how much you've spent on her already
well, it does not cost her, or anyone else, a cent to receive an overseas phonecall
unless of course you ask to reverse the charges and she accepts
that's what I'd do, LOL

Under normal circumstances the only time a called party pays is if they are roaming.
Then they pay for the call from the original country to their roamed country.
Keep in touch you never know what may happen.
Relax she wont get the big phone bills but you may!!!!!!!

when she 1st asked to stay in touch, I thought it was a joke & replied, "but expensive if I call" & she replied "no pay for incoming" so I just told her I will. I didn't think much into it but after getting back, I realized I enjoyed her company. nice girl with a good sense of humor. very easy to talk to & get along with. met her on the tail end of my trip. was just eager to get back home at that pt & was just looking for some r&r the last couple days. we were talking about clubs & said she knew a good one so I went w/ it. bar fined her, went to the club, had a few drinks & that was it. went back to her bar the next night & had a few drinks before I had to go catch my flight. very innocent encounter but enjoyable nonetheless.
but in any case, how I do I make the call? her # is 01-XXXXXXX. excuse my ignorance. I never made an international call directly. thx.
