Here's an Abbie Hoffman deal... I watched a backpacker use a demo laptop to transfer all his files from his digicam to his portable drive at this shop last Saturday. He was on the 17" Powerbook machine for 45 minutes, and still there when I left... no one in the shop said a thing. Looked like he was doing webmail also... they had an ethernet connection hooked up to all the demos. Easy access from BTS... Copper Wired Co (Apple Centre) 4th Floor, Siam Discovery Center (next to Asia Books) Can't beat the price... but don't go if you want demo their gear, because all the machines are booked.

This is the same for ALL Apple Stores, US or abroad - all the machines are wired, and all the machines are available for use/demo. You won't get buggered by any store employees, as long as you don't try to destroy them. What's even better is that all the stores are wirelessly wired as well, so if you have your Mac PowerBook, or other airport equipped Macintosh with you, you're good to go and do your thing sitting outside on a bench and doing whatever you need to do. One more reason why having a Mac is just a better way to compute... (obligatory pitch) Harry

For those familiar with Mac shops: I'm looking for a Titanium PowerBook; a specific model from one and a half year ago (able to boot as OS 9). Is there a place in BKK where they might still have them new? (Large store maybe).
