I am not a tech head but I do love my 33gig itouch right up to the moment it f**ked up and stopped working.

Problem will not switch on unless plugged into LT or mains power.
Once on will not switch off until batteries dead.
Left alone it will just goes into continual re-boot.

Reinstalled everything many times ran batteries out for a week repowered rebooted reformatted took it back to Apple who did the same and said if it does it again we will change it.

Now problem is I am out of the country (UK) where I bought it and will not be back before the 1-year guarantee runs out.

The IT guys at work have tried and failed the iphone tech-heads have tried and failed.

I have come to my own conclusion that having dropped it a few times the on/off switch is stuck damaged malfunctioning.

So the question is, can anywhere in BKK sort it/change it?

Tried talking to Mac help line they were no help. I know there is a Mac store in Emporium and I know Mac products are at a premium although could claim the tax back if I bought a new one.

Thoughts, suggestions?

I don't know if they are a full MAC dealer or not, but there is one in Emporium. I do know there is an Apple store in Fortune Town (I think on the 3rd floor). Never bought anything from them. There is also another little Apple place in Fortune Town that sells accessories and probably does other work to your stuff, just not warranty work. Hope this helps.

There is no need to buy a new one -- your Apple warranty is valid worldwide, you just need to take it to an Apple authorized dealer or service center, and they will service it for you, once they ascertain warranty status (the serial number is good enough for that).

Unlike an Apple owned store, which will just swap it, an Apple affiliate store might need to ship it back, so there would be a delay in returning it to you (and either way, you would essentially receive a replacement unit).

Go here:

http://www.apple.com/asia/buy/

Select THAILAND under resellers, and find one in your area - call first to make sure they handle warranty claims - or call the Apple Online Store (Thailand) to see if they can direct you to a warranty dealer (001-800-65-6957).
