the word is out that I am on my way to the los and the orders for software,hardware and gadjets have started to flood in
so I usually do pantip plaza and mbk for this type of shopping but is there anywhere else in bkk I can go for this stuff
i seem to remeber a post about another it mall up in the high numbers on the suk but cant find it using te search function (operator error)
any help would be apreciated

If you take the BTS to the Ratchartehwi stop, you will see the Hollywood Centre, which is mostly abandoned, but there are usually vendors selling software and DVD's in the hallways. Hollywood Centre is a large L shaped building with an entrance near the BTS and which exits on the other side onto Phetburi Rd near Panthip Plaza. This could be a worth a look if a police raid is underway at Panthip.
I have also been to IT Mall at Fortune Town, and it is just a smaller version of Panthip. Might be a good choice if the new subways are operational on Ratchadaprisek, otherwise I would go to Panthip, with a possible stop at Hollywood for software.

Hollywood Crt is pretty much abandoned when I checked it out two weeks ago. Seemed pretty condemned to me, with boarded up doors and windows.

Hollywood was also pretty much abandoned when I was there several months ago, but there were a few software and DVD vendors in the hallways during the day time. I don't know if that was only during the crackdown, and maybe they aren't there any more. It was on my way to Panthip Plaza from the BTS so it was no big deal walking through Hollywood. But if there aren’t any vendors there now, it might not be all that safe.

Now.... let's get the truth out.
Mr. Alan....There are NO vendors anymore in Hollywood.
Hzink.. the vendors have moved very close by. Next to Hollywood street is a new center with small booths called Coco Walk. From the Phaya Thai HC entrance walk down to Petchburi. You'll see the sellers on the right hand side (near the guard and toilets).
CD are 80 baht good to go! No DVDs though.

Hollywood is a good way to get from Ratchathewi BTS to pretty close to Panthip in air conditioned, but lonely, splendor.
Heard a few stories about rough characters hanging about the darkened halls, though. Probably pee (ghosts) of bankrupt vendors...
