After a few dissapointing experiences in small Pattaya and BKK massage shops, (like girls doing a decent overall massage, then finally getting to my cock, asking for too much money, and then doing a rushed or poor job) I've decided that it might workout well to ask for the handjob right away and then you're not strung along only to be dissapointed at the finish or lack there of...
I would actually prefer to "pop" and then relax for the oil massage routine.
I had a girl at Friendship massage in Pattaya who gave me the most amazing oil massage and then finished off by asking for 1000baht for a HJ and making it sound like she would have to rush...like she was doing me a favor! I left needless to say!
What do you think reactions would be if you walked into a massage place and made it clear "the order" in which you want your service? Problems?
From me experience, you'd have to make this clear before you paid any money, because after you've given money at the front desk, it's a little too late to decide that you're girl's going to play this type of game. You're out the 8-10 bucks...

I am not sure that you can even eliminate a "non-performer" or dead fish ... so to speak.
But ....... my opinion is that you can certainly do things that can minimize those chances though.
I will focus my answer towards MP's.
1. I think that the saying "you get what you paid for" is relevant, to a certain degree. I am not saying you over pay, but if you are only paying 500 baht for a session at an MP where most MP's are charging 1,500 baht then chances are that something is lacking. Maybe the females are not as good looking, but you can not expect to pay 1/3 of the going rate and get the same product.
2. Frequent more established places. I have never felt rushed at the MP's - Mirage, Emmanuelle, Caesar’s, Poseidon, or Honolulu. I have also always had adequate services. Sometimes really good and other times just routine and okay.
3. When talking with the female, be upfront on what you want. If I do not want the massage, then I will tell them when we arrive in the room. This at least sets up the expectations on my part. This also works to get a price .. if you are bargaining .. (which I don't) .... to where you know exactly what you are paying for and for how long. Be willing to walk away if the terms do not fit what you are looking for.
4. A trick I've used on a couple occasions is to tell the female that if she does this or that, I will tip her 1,000 baht or something. This is the same tip I would've given her anyways, but I will throw it out there to tempt her into better performing.
5. Tip the manager a little and let him know what you are looking for in a female, as well as performance. This way he can help you chose a female that fits your requirements.
6. Go on recommendations for others. If you hear good things about a place and a particular female, then it might be worth experiencing for yourself. Since everyone has different taste, but I think the odds of having a bad experience a less with a referral.

I don't think HS is talking about MPs, but instead the quasi-legitimate massage "shops" where extras are not openly on the table (so to speak).
For those places, I think it's a bad idea to try to work out the HJ beforehand. It will be awkward and may have the opposite effect: not only will you not get a nice HJ, but your massage will be unpleasant too. Usually you get an idea for how "affectionate" the girl will be based on her attitude and reaction to flirting, light touching, etc.
In these places you should go in with the expectation that all you are getting is a good massage from a hopefully not unattractive girl. Consider everything else a bonus. If you're not really into the massage then you should go to a real MP where you know what you're getting.
Only when you're a repeat customer can you start pushing the limits and expecting more. Unless you can speak Thai well (which I know you can't) I think it would be hard to deviate from the standard practices and still be discreet.

It might be useful to divide these types of massage places into two groups.
The first type is massage shops where the main business is offering massage services (foot, traditional, oil). At these places you may be able to get extra service if the girl is looking for an earner, but not guaranteed.
The second type is massage shops where the main business is providing extra service but they use the massage service as a front (Barons, Fifth Massage etc.)
Select the type you want and you shouldn't be disappointed.

When I get my in room massage at my hotel in Pattaya, I spread 800 out where the girl sees it when she walks in. Lets her know what I'm willing to pay. In BKK I had to up the price.
The small shops on the street are different story. I pay for oil massage as they give you a private space but I tell the girl no oil. I try and chat her up to see if she's interested in providing full service. I've been turnded down twice. I got a nice massage.

Thanks again... You've helped me put this into perspective. It's not so much money going to these small shops that I should worry if "she" doesn't fulfill my fantasy.
What I really need to put my effort into is finding the good looking girls in these places, I guess.
I tried this system when I was in BKK where I would walk into smaller massage places, ask about the girls and make mental notes of the talent for the next day.
That worked out better than walking in ready for a massage, inspecting the girls, deciding that none were nice looking enough, and then walking back out. Which happened alot at the small places in Sukhumvit!

It'd really be nice, when I go back, to have two girls give the oil massage when I'm exploring the small shops. Nothing like having four hands on you at once!
1.If I ask at the front desk, do you think they'd charge me double for the use of two girls?
2. Or if I explained that I'd pay for the massage and then tip both girls, would the person in charge honor my request?
Just something to think about... As some of you know from reading my first trip reports, I had a helluva time cumming after a few days in LOS because of the condom abuse my pecker suffered. Actually painful after a while!
I think having the attention of two girls more often will help that next time!

Nokna, sometimes your words don't properly express your true thoughts, but this last paragraph is very poorly expressed (to the point of being offensive). You could express your sentiment a little more tactfully with something like the following:
"The girls are eager for your business and normally will comply with any reasonable requests. If they don't, there are many others who will gladly accept your patronage."
