Kaymanx, Are you referring to "Wat Po" where they teach Traditional Thai Massage ? I went there for foot reflexology and TTM and wasn't impressed with their 'skills' - didn't felt that the money was well spent

Pinga's recommendation to try the health clubs at any of the better hotels is a good one... price is higher, but facilities always excellent, massage staff are screened for ability before hiring and the reception staff speak English. "Four star" places (Landmark) and "Three star" (Ambassador) also have very good massage services and it strikes me the HJ is a bit more common than in the "Five star" joints. You pay more, but you get the additional infrastrucure like sauna, cold tank, etc. Another good bet is Garden Spa in Washington Square... very consistent massage quality with hj. File

I love a good massage... No doubt about it, I enjoy it and it's good for me. But finding a massage person that is good or what you like is a questrion of taste, some of the most expensive places are sh_t and other less travelled places are great or for that matter vice versa. Unfortunately, its a case of trial and error but if you are not enjoying the massage there is nothing wrong with saying stop and trying to explain what is it that is going wrong, most people who supply massages are willing to listen as it is a two-street, if not don't suffer in silence and if you wish politely excuse yourself and then leave, but really this is a last resort. It is a tough call for sure but a good massage has great benefits, if in doubt make the effort to talk to your massage person or their supervisor etc. or if in doubt contact Wat Po or any other accredited establishment and ask them about the servces that they supply and what you would like. Where do I go! There are and have been many as I really do enjoy a massage but now I have someone come into my home who works privately, nothing sinister or anything else (P$P) like that but wholeheartedly a professional massage provider. Since you are taking at least two hours out of your day for this service and you possibly understand the benefits that a massage can provide, hyave good look around for what's on offer as there are many superb practioners of this fine art. 2cents up

New and good priced spa will open soon near the Shangri-La. I think towards the end of the month. One of the principals is a lady that has a steady clientele among some hi-sos and foreign visitors that invite her to their houses/hotel for her to give massages to the whole family there -you know, the kind of hisos that do not like to mix with the middle class. She is that good. Hopefully her staff will all be top quality. But no hanky-panky to be expected there.

For a 'dry" massage I like Huttisart located in Washington Square.. not far from Bourbon Street.. so I sometimes for a massage on Tuesdays.. about five, then go to BS for all you can eat Mexican (not bad either)... B250 for massage and I tip B100 and the girl seems very happy with it. for oil massage as someone mentioned the hotels have good services.. I like the Ambassador which is B450 for a good one hour massage.. they have both men and women... this is at the HEalth center, not the one near the entrance.. nice rooms with a bath/shower to clean up after all the oily junk.. I must confess tho, I usually get the HJ while I am there, but I am not obligated to do this

The places I like for a "legit" massage: "Reflex place" (Sukhumvit Soi 5) :For a real good foot massage ask for Miss "Chou" (beware, she is very often booked, apparently many peoples appreciate her) For TTM I like Baron's (300 bahts for 2 hours, extra avalaible) and the Spa massage place next to Eden club (400 bahts for 2hours, NO EXTRA), simply ask the girls from Eden club to recomend you their favorite massage women Madfrog

What Im looking for: #1. Clean, comfortable environment #2. good massage skills #3. Not-too-old massage girls #4. extra HJ I can have #1,2,3 (but not #4) in a 5-star hotel such as Dusit Thani or Oriental. From Deep File, it seems I might be able to have #1,2,3,4 together in a 4-star or 3-star hotel. Any 4-star hotel that are worth trying?

I had some good massage sessions at Nana Hotel massage parlour on the ground floor behind the lifts. The girls names was Pim now this was about 18 months ago so don't know if she still works there. She was in her 30s and found the tight spots with out me telling her, so she knew her job. Yes extra's were on offer and she gave a wonderfull slow HJ with those strong hands of hers. On my second visit I just had a 2 houir massage no extras, but arranged to meet her after work. Took her to a gogo as she'd never been in one before, then for a meal and back to my hotel. UKP.
