Back in Bangkok after the best part of a year and made the ritual visit to Tulip. I was prepared for the disappointment of C's absence (they told me she has gone back to Nakhom Phanom supported by her sponsor - I wish her luck and thanks for some great times), and was forewarned by some of the comments about photoshopping. I looked at the book to see who was available and then went down to see the girls in person. There was basically little or no resemblance between the girls and their photos. And I think it was this combined with a certain absence of enthusiasm on the part of the girls that decided me to just give it a swerve and move on to Mango. It has to be said that Mango presents quite a sharp contrast to Tulip at the moment in that the Mango girls are very attractive and show enthusiasm even for an ugly old git like me.
I will not be writing off Tulip after some of the great times I have had there, but I do think their strategy of photoshopping the girls to the point where you cannot recognise them from their photos is a bad one. If I'd just gone down to see the girls without the images from the photos in my head I might have made a choice and taken the girl I felt was most likeable. Then the odds are that the strengths of Tulip would have come into play and I would have been satisfied by the generally high service standards maintained by most of the girls. Having said that I left not only because I felt misled by the photos, but also because a lot of the girls seemed to have problems raising a smile for me. If pretty young girls at Mango can smile at me why not at Tulip? It might seem like a small point but a lot of us make our decisions on the basis of our first impression of a place and if it gives a negative impression that does not help.
On a side issue my bet is that Pim will soon be following C out of there. She is the only girl there that I know whose photo looks like her in real life (in fact I'd say it doesn't do her justice), she performs like an energiser bunny and she can give a good GFE. If anything I'm surprised she hasn't obtained a sponsor before now. I suggest we enjoy her company while we can.

Upon first getting acquainted with a bar or other establishment or even a particular lady ( both of which can take a longer time than one imagines ) and wondering why a certain lady hasn't been snapped up before now, it can often be that there already is a boyfriend, husband, lover, sponsor, partner or two or three or even that the lady, having already been saddled with a youngster or two or three by past associations ) just doesn't want a man in her life right now nor the potentially added complications.

Good points Joe. I tend to think Pim is sponsor minded on the basis of conversations I have had with her when I hired her out in the past. But it would not be surprising if she did already have a number of sponsors in tow. Maybe she stays working at Tulip waiting for that really wealthy one who can keep her in the style to which she would like to become accustomed. If so good luck to her. I'd certainly put her in with a chance of achieving such an aim.

A partial solution is to have a second cheaper phone for those special friends, switching it off in the company of your "significant other", but still retaining the ability to contact or be contacted by them at other times.
Most ladies will initially just send text messages anyway, if they don't know your home circumstances and don't want to cause a problem for you.

Admittedly there are the gold-diggers and those hungry for accumulating more wealth at any cost and manner to thus gain more security.
We all go after the bigger slice but when one lives in a land of false smiles, poverty, exploitation, corruption at every turn and the threat of debt always hanging over you and your family, without a social security system, in a situation of fierce competition, one would be inclined at times to consider any means.
Some girls are able to save money and some have an honest relationship in their mind's eye, having had the liars and the cheats and other genuine disappointments and disillusions at an earlier age, but retain an unspoken hope at least for a year or two of meeting someone who is not necessarily very wealthy but someone who is genuine and trustworthy.
But in the instance of that occurance, the troubles begin from the start with a very high hurdle.........
...................for what girl can begin to trust a customer who has wandered at some time into her shop or bar, him having visited many in the past.................
...............and what man can begin to trust a lady who has been working in a massage parlour or a bar for any length of time.
As for Khun Pim and Khun Nice, both of whom are sensible girls and genuine and forthright in their own right, I wish they both good luck and wishes and hope they find what they are hoping for.
And yes, I agree, the photo-shopping is ridiculous.
On the other hand, if at times you feel despondent about the initial welcome in the basement on some days, can you for one moment imagine yourselves down there waiting day after day and upon hearing the foot-steps on the stairs of yet another woman-customer of any age, hygiene, weight or size coming potentially to f*** you in the arse, you might have difficulty in leaping up with joy and abundant enthusiasm and a welcoming smile on your face ?

Again, I find myself agreeing with much of what you say Joe. I would just like to clarify I'm not condemning Pim as a gold-digger, I also think she is one of the nicer girls you meet in the business. Indeed, it is remarkable she remains so agreeable after being at Tulip as long as she has.
I also totally agree that I would not be too happy at the idea of having to service all comers whatever their physical state. The point I was trying to make is that at some shops the girls have managed to at least give an appearance of enthusiasm for my custom even though I am a hell of a long way off being any kind of desirable physical specimen (though perhaps not the worst they will encounter). When presented with a choice between an apparently enthusiastic provider and an unenthusiastic one I think most of us go for the enthusiastic one. Lets also bear in mind that my intention was to give an account of just one less than successful visit and as I said in the original post, you don't write off a place with Tulip's record for good service on the basis of one visit.
I think the points you raise about the problems of working girl/monger relationships are also well observed. I find myself hoping that C will attain success with her relationship despite your well founded reservations about such arrangements. I always found her pleasant and likeable company and she deserves some luck after the hard work she put in at Tulip. The same can be said of Pim (I never had the pleasure of meeting Nice so I cannot comment) and I would like to join you in hoping she is able to secure a happy future whatever shape it may take.

I didn't read your post as being negative at all nor casting dispersions on any lady.
I just wanted to point out, generally, a situation that we all sometimes in our enthusiasm, forget or choose to.
As for the comments I made on the working girl/monger relationships, I personally do not think it is impossible. I was just attempting to point out some of the hurdles that a couple has to surpass in order to achieve an equilibrium and a fair chance of success.
No criticism intended.
I liked your posts.
Carry on, sir........and enjoy to the full. You seem to be a fine appreciator of the delicacies of life.
