Oldtimer

The ladies at the King and I have very strong hands, to the point that they can do an oldtimer like me some serious damage...unless you caution them "bow bow".
A year or two ago I had my neck strained and another time almost dislocated my arm. So now I attend a place where the ladies are younger and not as strong.
But I was never offered a happy ending here. Nor would I crave one. Each to their own.

I went to the King & I a few months back and was not impressed at all by the services.
The TTM was passable (at best).
I have had much better elsewhere

Can you recommend a better place near the SGS on Sukhumvit for a straight massage/aromatherapy? I always thought the King & I was one of the better bargains available in the area, but would be willing to try another place equally clean and professional when I visit BKK again this month. For FS oil massage, of course, there are plenty of options on the Suk.

Don't you love TLAs.
There are many close to your hotel but I can recommend these
May Massage - is still the best deal in town like forum says. 600THB for genuine 2hour Hot oil massage.
If want more spa like try suk 24
Asia Herbal Association- 1200thb 2hr Oil & herbal comp(on right side as wal up have own large room) http://www.asiaherbassociation.com
Body Tune - 800-900 special on 2hr aroma. no shower but wet towel wipe down at start ok. it quite far up the soi on the left but they have a tuk tuk that would likely pick you up drop off if you call or ask.
Great value & quality is Wot Po massage school on the sub soi opposite side from start Soi 24. 400 thb for 30min foot scrub followed by 2hr Thai massage. they got free wifi also. Once the lady feel asleep massaging me there. (Eat outside at the corner by bookstore of this sub soi for best value food)
If you fancy something more extreme try Moku Foot Massage. It male who do very strong & until get used to can be painful but after you feel great and get hooked. it just past the school on soi 22. only Japanese customer.

Sorry about the TLA, and thanks for the advice, robroy.
Have read the reviews about May on the forum, but I'm looking for something slightly more upmarket for a truly relaxing experience. I don't want a place that offers extras, because, as I said, those can be had at other, better value places. Will check out Asia Herbal Association, which seems like a more professional place.
