I think most falang, having known the soi for some time have nearly always, in the past, left with the impression over the years that both Staff and management at Matsutake were only interested in Japanese custom.

But a very good friend of mine, ( aaahhhemmm ! ) who happened to be passing through the soi 24/1, having established the fact that there are no second-hand bookshops down there, verified for me the fact that falang are most welcome in Matsutake.
The exterior he says, is slightly different, yet still advertising Tiger balm. He's a bit short-sighted and could only read the word Tiger.
Since he thought that this establishment was serving his favourite beer, he ventured in and was immediately not offered a massage, with nor without the trimmings of oil, balm or gel.
The choices were 1,500 for one hour, 2,500 for longer and an additional price for even longer.
He didn't think that he'd take that long to drink one bottle of beer and so opted for the one hour.
He was accompanied up stairs by a very charming and delightfully attractive lady who wasted no time in sexually assaulting and raping him.
He was somewhat taken aback by the experience since the beer was Heinekin. But he did say that that was the only disappointment and that he would be returning to the soi frequently just to check to see if he hadn't missed a book-shop that might be tucked away from view.
He also thought that the Staff at Matsutake were not only very helpful and kind but extremely attractive and generous in the attentions, even though the beer was definitely too expensive at 1,500 baht.

Either Matsutake changed hands or new joint open next door on Soi 24/1.

Too early in the day to phone him, but, looking at the information in Babaganoosh's helpful post, I would think it was the Menthol massage that seduced him.
I'll let you know.
In the meantime, my apologies both to Matsutake Staff and Management and to the hordes of falang who must have descended on the soi in hope last night.

I have to confirm previous suspicions that the above-mentioned foray into the soi 24/1 establishment, was in fact the Menthol Massage and not Matsutake Massage as thought before.
Sorry folks !
But by all accounts, Menthol massage sounds a good place to visit.
Not having been there myself, I hope another brother, who is experienced in the delights held therein, since my friend is not a member of this forum, will open up a thread for this equally deserving cause.
Matsutake : as you were : sadly : Japanese only.

Second post on the website and first post on the oil massage forum.
I'll try and not get into trouble.
So, Matsutake Massage.
