Cant get over all the bullshit that continually gets posted about STD's and AIDS here from a bunch of totally ignorant morons. Before you post please do a little research and get your f_cking facts straight you pussy whipped yank inbreds.
First the chances of contracting HIV from unprotected sex for a man are approx 1:4800, (WHO report 1999). the odds of a woman catching HIV from unprotected sex are approx 1:240 (WHO report 1999). So the odds are hugely on your side. There are still NO PROVEN DOCUMENTED cases of a male catching HIV from uprotected oral sex. (feel free to refute me on this but please provide reports from reputable medical journals!!) Syphillis/NGU/NSU etc are all curable with current medication.
Herpes I/II are currently not curable but are treatable, The newer herpes class c (or Herpes III) Is considered untreatable but recent studies in Germany and Italy have shown that this class is CURABLE!!.
So what do you guys want ??. a night/evening/hour with a beautiful young girl or total immunity. If the latter I suggest you save the airfare and stay at home with a jar of babyoil - you wankers. Otherwise (as chris rock says) shut the f_ck up and have a good time.
All you naysayers out there give me proof of one documented case of a farang TOURIST catching HIV here???

in addition to waylanders comments, i can only add that i know some farangs living in this coutry for about 10 years screwing 1-4 of the most obscene girls every day without any condom and are hiv negative!
no wonder as the hiv+ rate of thailand is 0.05% of the population. in comparison the rate in the sacred us is 0.08% of the population and in europe about 0.03%. this is according to the latest un health care survey about hiv.
okay you might argue that statistics are faked in asia or that you are involving with some risk groups etc. yes but even here it is up to ones own if you mix with the top or bottom end of the industry!

Waylander, FWIW, the 1 in 4800 is for unprotected sex (one time) with anyone. General population.
The 1 in 200 (0.5%) is for unprotected sex (one time) with an INFECTED partner.
Since the odds of randomly hooking up with an infected partner are low but non-zero, you end up back with numbers like yours (or WHO's)

I agree with Nokna. I am going to post my response, and do not really care what others think about it. We've been all over this topic through out this forum. I am sure Iím gonna get flamed over my view points!!
It's a persons choice and responsibility to be safe.
What does being safe mean?? Using a condom CORRECTLY, while engaging in vaginal or anal sex. If one choices not to use a condom when having intercourse, then youíd better get checked for an STD before having unprotected sex with another partner. Because you will not know if you are clean or not and don't want to infect the female if you do have something.
In my opinion, anyone that does not think about HIV and other STD's are just plain stupid. Hey, it's out there and if you do not think you can catch it, then I think you can just go ahead and burry your head in the sand and live in your own world.
I am not saying to be paranoid over it and live in a bubble and not have fun!!
But, do not try to pass it off as no big deal. It is a big deal!! These Ý%ís that are being thrown around on catching something, or not catching something are really a waste. I am guilty of doing this!! But, how many of you have either gambled or played bingo/lotto?? Those percent of winning are a lot less then you catch an STD by having unprotected sex with an individual in a high-risk area. That means from a person that has multiple partners and does not practice safe sex.
This statement is not aimed at any one individual, but a general statement!! The lack of respect/awareness Ýat times on the this topic is darn right scary!!
It just reinforces my view on practicing safe sex. ÝAnd this goes back to the person who said he had HIV and was still having sex with females in Thailand. You think heís the only one??
Just because you do not think you are going to get it does not mean you cannot. Why take the chance?? ÝIt's like wearing a seat belt in the car. How many of you wear the seat belt while driving?? In the U.S it is mandatory. And even when it's not, I still wear one. Does that mean I could not get killed in a car crash?? NO. But, it means that my chances of surviving a normal crash are higher then if I did not wear one. Again, why take that chance with sex of possibly catching something and then passing along to maybe a lover one??
In the same area, for the people that also talk about STD's saying that they are either curable or can be controlled, do you have either a gf or are married?? What's this about controlling the STD? Yes, it can be controled. When you get herpes you will always have it and can infect your partner if you do not practice safe sex. I would like to like to how someone would go about telling their wife or gf that they can not have unprotected sex with her because he caught something somewhere else.
Again, I pose the question to everyone. Have you ever been tested for any STD's or HIV? If not, then you cannot say you are clean and could be infecting the females yourself and no the other way around. Thus tainting the female environment of the rest of us!! Why are the men so worried about the female getting tested if they do not themselves get tested??
Now, if you don't care, then that's up to you. But, that is a sorry excuse to run ones life.
Be responsible and have fun at the same time. This will ensure that there will plenty more times ahead in Thailand for the fun to continue!!

I agree with ABC and Nokna. This is a matter of choice. But one mus thave responsibility. If you are infected with anything, you must practie safe sex. For the sake of the girls and others.
Also don't be embarassed to get checked by a doctor every now and then. Most STDs are easily curable at early stage of infection.
