arthur, very interesting story. Please tell more. I feel there are pieces of this puzzle still missing. Explain the difference in her attitude once you took her out of the shop. Was she not as affectionate? Also, what did you pay her; what was the arrangement? What do you think is the real reason she made an excuse the next time? These kind are the true tales of interest.

Very difficult to say. We are speaking of attitudes of a professional, a Thai Girl, not the same culture etc..But I can try to give a couple of opinions.
She was actually bored. She had to wait for me (working) ; the level of interest of this charming Lady, apart from Budhism and love stories is TV and comics, I think. So out of BAngkok and friends or family, the world does not exist much, and she was bored. Which might explain. She was glad to go back to BAngkok.
Money was never an issue. We discussed it before and it was OK.
I am not so sure it is a good idea to go several days with a LAdy, unless it is a real Girlfriend, which was not the case. It is a job, they do, for money of course. Spending all day with a farang is not that natural or easy, considering the above. Again most of those ladies only know Isan and Bangkok. Their daily life is so far away from ours. This is not brilliant, but tonight this is all I can provide. Hope it helps alittle bit.

IF she was bored but still making money... wouldn't she still want it? Unless she knew she could make much more staying in BKK and doing Short time stuff. I have my own story with a massage girl, who I am wondering whether she is my friend, but one can never be too sure with these girls. 98% of the time it is all business, but I was meeting a girl out for coffee a couple times and a 2 day trip, and no money was exchanged. That was my test to see if we were actually friends or not. Now I wait and see how things unfold.

flashBKK, It's not always about just making money.Most of these girls are much like petulant, spoilt young teenagers in most Western cultures.
They normally require entertainment to be provided on a regular basis,, that could include regular shopping trips, collecting shells on the beach etc etc.
Let them cut loose for a few hours each day,, slip them a few dollars ( Australian dollars are best,,LOL ) and send them shopping. Ask if they have telephoned their parents lately and offer a phone for them to do that,,, let them watch their Thai TV soapies and have a few Thai cartoon books in the room, while you have a few beers in the hotel lounge.Essentially the spoilt brats want money AND entertainment,, what you recieve in return is quite often very pleasing If not then dump her.

when I was out with her, she would ask "what would you like to do?" and I would say "whatever you want to do". She acting as if I was paying to do what I wanted (unless she actually IS that nice). BUt the thing is, I did NOT pay her for her time.

BIG mistake,, you are putting responsibility of decision making on a Thai,, not good.Most need to be led,, they are not by nature decision makers ( most ).
That statemnt is NOT meant in any way to be demeaning but it is as I have seen a fact.
Better you lead,, she says what you want to do,, reply Daagling, lets go beach,, or lets go movie,,, and if your not in the mood say Daagling,, now is time your favourite Thai soap opera TV,, you go room see that, I wait you here. Or Daagling I tired now no energy,, you remember that pink dress you see that you like,,,??? here is 500 BHT you go shopping for that I wait you here.
It's not that hard once you accept the leader role, which is uncomfortable for many "gelded" farangs.

Myself and those girls with the teenaged minds are together a perfect example of what this world is coming to...
It is that between money and entertainment, given the choice, honestly, I'd settle for just the entertainment!
It's just that, for me, eventually things get to that point where it all ain't so funny anymore, with no money around.
Can you believe it? Despite the certain and real satisfaction I get out of doing a good job at something, no matter what it is or for whom, I am not always that peachy about my work. Not always. You know, waking up in the morning... The attitudes you deal with... Like I have these other hobbies, see. I'd like to pursue them too. And even if I was getting paid to do something more or less quite natural, if it's possible, I guess just having to do it for pay, not according to my own whim's scheduling, would turn me off a bit now and then.
And, well, if I had a different kind of steady job... Just imagine... I think that no matter how much I loved the anxious mathematical thrill of repetitively counting change at 7/11, I'd still wish I had a little bit more fun and money now and then. Especially when the small change I'm counting at 7/11 is my monthly paycheck. I'd sure want to have a little more fun if that's what I had to do 28 days of every month....
Yeah, I can see it now, me and the girls... two peas in a pod, you see... snug, too... when the working day is done, we just wanna have fun. Actually we just wanna have fun all the time. Design a princeling's life of art and leisure. My conception. Give me a shot at it.
... One finds that in trying to honestly empathize with where folks are coming from a bit, in that effort, is the little bit that goes a long way with many people, in terms of service. Of course, if it turns out not to be reciprocated, I have to move on pretty soon.
