From a Western point of view in which we are bombarded with valid information about HIV, it does not make sense and it clearly might not be worth the sizeable risk, but if money is the main motivator - whether genuinely needing to send it home to the family and kids in Isaan, or at the other extreme to buy some luxury item for themselves - then caution gets thrown to the wind. Some guys will tip or pay heavily for BBFS, so the pull is most definitely there for the girls to roll the dice.

Sorry Nic,but it is an issue that arises at every P4P venue. Of course rumours abound and statistics from anywhere get quoted and jumbled and taken as fact. There are two main camps at the extremes on the client side. One is that it will never happen to me, so I'll fly high. The other is, it may happen but so what, I'll still do what I want to do and come what may, I'll live (?) with that consequence.
Then in the middle there are the safety first guys who,in the main, almost always take measures to protect themselves and the ladies and by that, their familes.
I believe that the onus is on the client, since most of the ladies in this country's sex industry have not had the benefit of even a glimmer of the standard of education that foreigners are given, let alone any formal induction into their present occupations which entails mentioning safeguards or dangers. There are many who have had no education with regard to sexual matters at all. Reliance is on word of mouth from colleagues and rumour and gossip and smatterings of advice that they pick up from friends.
In the midst of all of this, you have the guys who believe that the whole idea of HIV and AIDS is a Christian-inspired plot to deprive the world of any sexual enjoyment at all, since it is all a fabrication, and so disregard it.
And then you have the scare-mongers who latch on to this particular misfortune in order to get people to re-invest and reaffirm 'family values' through fear.
Placed in the middle of all of these are the service providers themselves who are at times pressured by clients, particularly regulars, to dispense with protection completely.
The service provider needs to be popular in her work place. She has her eye on her industry/work-place reputation and popularity among the clients. She also has an eye on keeping her job in the face of 'unsatisfied' customers, if she refuses, as her reputation, as can be seen on this forum, can be dashed over-night. And lastly, there is also the temptation of the extra money. So, maybe there is a lot for her to choose to roll the dice, although having said that, there are many girls who will refuse outright, whatever the consequences for their employment.
Much as men and women enjoy FS bare-back or even anal bare-back, I hold that it should only be enjoyed within a stable and lasting relationship.
