Well, usually 150-200B is suffi. The total fare for a real traditional massage is 300-350B/2 hours. There is one place very well know near Jatuchak weekend market and other at the 2nd floor at the Chaopraya Hotel in Ratchadapisek road. Ah! somebody told me that also near Jim Thompson shop in Suriwonsee Road (parallel to Silom) is also good but I never tried this one. Remember, within these places you will find men and women from around the world and even Thai people seeking for a time to relax. Thus, don't expect any naughty proposal from the masseuses or any fish-bowl for chosing your girl.

pinga you rich man! I thought 50-100 B was good enough for traditional massage. For oil massage 100-150 B is okay. Of course, if you get a hj, 500 B covers it or 1000 B for full course.

Well man, the way is that I am a regular customer for a traditional Thai massage either in Jatuchak or at the 2nd floor of the CHAOPHRAYA PARK HOTEL (RatchadaPisek Av.). As I told before, these places are very nice and the masseusses ae old and skillful enough and no fish bowl at all. The very first time I gave a tip of 100B but talking to the Khun she said that they receive only a very small fee out of the total price you pay in the front-desk. The big percentage of the total fee you pay goes to the owner. Thus, I give them 150B-200B tip and I think it is fair enough because the massage is simply great.
On the other hand, yep! for the naughty massage parlors called by themselves "Thai Traditional Massage" like THEWI (Phayathai BTS Station), PINKLAO, etc....you certainly will be expecting a traditional massage but in fact those places are mini-bordellos....You will see the fish bowl and YES you chose your girl and later on you will be proposed a HJ for 500B or full intercourse for 1000B. For the oil massage, nothing better than BARON BS. ENJOY!!!!

150-200 bht seems fair for a traditional massage, considering that the whole course takes 2 hrs.
what about non-traditional/body massage? i know it probably depends on the service you get, but what's the typical tipping range? i need to get an idea to avoid either being too cheap or looking like a high-spender.

For the body massage there are some places where the girls don't even expect a tip. Apparently the make more than enough. There are no standards for tipping. Now, in some places, the girl would expect a tip of 500B if you were going to have 2 rounds with her. More if you were doing anal sex.  Which one of you brothers have tipped 1000B?! Actually, I did that once in Annie's. Some friends have suggested 300B as the going rate.

Well, I always wait for the girl to say something about tips after the "works" at the massage parlors. Some girls don't expect anything as they get a fixed amount of 1.000B from the total fee you pay at the front desk (this may vary if she is a sideliner).
However, be advised that if you request either anal-sex or 3 rounds just snake 200B to the girl and put 20B over the bed when you are about to leave. This 20B note will go to the lady who changes the sheet after the "massage session". it is adviseable also to have a drink and invite one to the girl before the "works". You will get a nice smile from the girl and nothing better than that as an ice-breaker!!!! ENJOY!!!!

YEP! you are right. 200B seems to be enough as in the massage parlor YOU are expected to have 2 rounds. After the works, I use to tip 200B as I do request the girl always a third round.
Hmm in Annies I haven't had a nice good-looking girl. Certainly, those 1.500B you paid were heading you to the VIP room. The times I've been there I was at the "regular" room as the VIP room was fully booked. Thus, no TV and other facilities during my visits. However, to tip a girld with 1000B was real amazing. BK must have a nice time with his girl, je! I will try to visit Annies early int he afternoon. Many of the reports say that they got the better/young girls during this time. The same of you.
