greetings,
i'm looking for a place that gives decent deep tissue sports massage with no extras. the regular oily's aren't quite the answer and I can never think about anything else but the happy ending.
some of the 5-star hotels have them but are overpriced.
any suggestions?

Yes, Healthland is probably the best place for this. THere is a brand new one in Ekamai. VERY clean and neat, with Aromatherapy and Ayuravedic massage. The place being great it can also be VERY busy with waiting time close to one hour. Better to book in advance.

Yes, I think that hospital choices are good because they also offer physiotherapy if they have the trained staff as well as deep tissue massage and ordinary Thai massage.
But hospitals and the high-end massage aromatherapy places charge, usually quite highly for their services.
I, being the original cheap charlie........
I take the view that if you can get the same or equivalent or just as effetive therapy elsewhere, I go for the cheaper. Why pay over the odds and in some cases, exorbitantly high.
I have found that Tony's Thai massage 600 metres down soi 23 on the right, has highly trained staff with government approved credentials and qualifications.
They have a choice of massage treatments and will respond fully to your request to treat a particular area or set of muscles and tendons, i.e. shoulder and arm or leg and ankle.
They have straight legitimate Thai massage, lotion, oil, hot oil, herbal treatments and other choices, all professional.
The reason for their popularity is that they have the lowest prices, they are just off Asoke and their massage sessions are effective. 100 baht for one hour of straight Thai traditional massage with no additions like oil or herbal or aromatic, unless you opt for them.
A really good place. But it is popular because a lot of people know about its value for money.
But then, if you want to spend ten or twenty times as much for the same thing, you can always go elsewhere.

thanks for the respones. I checked the rate for at the wellness centre. a session with the farang chap is Baht 2700. he is only there for a few more days anyway. will go with a local I think.
