After all these years, I am just now wondering that if many people go to oilies just for the special, why then not ask for the thai massage and once in the room get going with the special?
We always talk here about the 2 hours oily -myself I always ask for the 2 hours oily. How would it be different if one asks for the same girl, but instead says it is for a 2 hour thai massage?
Anyway, it is not really for a real oil massage we go to these places.

Actually for me, I do often enjoy a bit of massage in these places... before the special. I do this a lot when I'm just looking for a HJ special: I enjoy the massage, too. Unless I go to a place where I know there won't be any massage at all and it's going to plunge into downright sex.
In more Thai oriented massage places, off the tourist trail, I often pay just for the Thai massage, not the oil massage, because I know the place is essentially a brothel anyway. It doesn't matter.
However, in some places, you have to be careful. Sometimes only some of the girls are "trained" to do one form of massage or another. Strange thing is, in these Thai places, I've had it both ways. Sometimes the ugly ones only did TTM; others times only the ugly ones did OM... Best just to choose the girl. You can have sex with them all usually.

Any of these types of places in Silom-Sala Daeng area? Am looking for a place for good massage before HJ- I know where to go for full package (Ogoto, etc) but sometimes want a good massage with relaxing hj finish and dont know anyplace closer than Lisa- any suggestions?

In most massage places if you ask for thai massage you do not get to choose the girl and much of the time she will not offer FS, possibly no more than HJ. You need to choose oily to be sure to get "special" in my experience.
However I suspect there are exceptions/places where this is not true.

Well, think of a place like Tulip for example. You walk in and you choose the girl. Then you say you are going in for 1 or 1.5 or 2 hour oily. You know you are really going for the sex. What if instead you had say "thai" massage.
At a place like Angel, when you see the album, the page with each girl pictures says what massage she gives. Most have thai and oil, some include "lotion" (havenīt tried that one).
Maybe will try one day asking for thai and report the result.
Anyway, if I want a real massage I would go to one of the Health and Land spas, where you get a real aromatherapy 1.5 hour massage for 800 baht in very nice surroundings and in a very nice room.

I love Thai massages with the HJ. It's like being in my pajamas and a girl comes into the room to play with me, then she takes my clothes off.
Unfortunately, getting a real pretty girl that does it just like when I was young is very hit or miss. Yeah, I get the HJ, but never do I get it like, "Boy, the girl next door came over and is playing with me in my PJs and now I can take off her underwear, like the girl next door".
But, we keep trying!

Check out the threads in OM section concerning Silom Rd. There are a couple. Besides all the stuff down at Lisa's past Narathiwat Rd, nearer Saladaeng there are Ogoto, Friendly (on Surawong go West) and another Lisa's on Surawong, and a bunch of other small and large ones on Surawong from Thaniya all the way down going west...

Not near Sala Deng nor Silom is Ton'y's traditional Thai massage parlour - 100 baht an hour - way down soi 23 past Cowboy on the other side of the road.
Authentic Thai, fully trained, clean and very good.
HJ and possibly bj surrepticiously available from some, since Tony does not officially nor openly approve.
A great place for fantastic value.
The girl gets 50 baht for the hour, so remember to tip generously.
Most of them live on site.

Thanks Sea John. Decided I would just have to try places one at a time. Started with first place I saw on Thaniya walking towards Suriwong. Shower in room, and most of the massage naked without towel so I was pretty sure HJ would be forthcoming, however after 1.5 I was sitting up for final shoulder rub without any special being even hinted at. And the place was rediculously overpriced, just a regular massage place but full of Japanese clients, 900baht for 1.5 hour aroma... 0/1
Will try again today.

I don't think it advisable, in a lot of these places, if you are wishing for a happy ending, that you can lay back and wait to be propositioned.
In this policed day and shaky political climate, if you are an unknown at the establishment, you could, for all they know, be a police informer or reporter ( farang or not) seeking first hand (?) proof. Any excuse for a shake-down and a bit of extra cash for the boys back at the station.
Even in an oily renowned for all types of relief, I wouldn't wait for the girl to suggest anything.
She might have had a busy and genitally exhausting day, or just happens to feel like a bit of a breather (?) for the next cliient or two.
I'd start enquiring about the possibilities during idle chat in the shower or if no shower, whilst undressing yourself or her, so as to define the parameters early on, avoid any disappontment that I could have felt, to reassure her that I would want to know either way and if it was on, which it more than probably is, to secure as much time as posssible to what I had actually come for.
It clears the air either way she chooses and doesn't leave me uncertain and frustrated for an hour and a half, dangling by my urgency.
The lady more often than not, appreciates the forth-rightness of your approach, so long as you are sensitive to her feelings and couch your language in socially acceptable terms and in a polite manner.
She is relieved that she hasn't been left with the task of judging when she should take the initiative in raising the subject with you. And you ensure that she knows exactly what you want and when you want it.
This is definitely not to suggest that you enter the room and in your best Cockney accent, as she closes the door, say, " Up for a f***, bitch ?"
There is a protocol in these sorts of discourses to observe and the social niceties of the massage parlour to follow, if you have any real hopes of getting what you want and to ensure that you will receive a genuine welcome the next time you call.
