Can someone msg me if they know the scope on lease properties east of On Knut or even north Mo Chit or whatever.. I was under asumption that you can get 2-3bedrooms on 6month leases for 15-25k bht per month. Ive heard things of thai language listing and such.. i'm determined to put down some solid roots in the new year. I'm convinced that these gems exist, something a typical bangkok (thai) yuppie or young dual income couple, or some well off working girls with or without mae.. etc. would lease.. a PM with any info on the real estate scene would be khap mak khrap!!!!

You can get anything for any price anywhere, you just got to look for it. I have a 3 bed house in sathon for 30k, not huge thats for sure but ok and location good for me. We lloked at a huge house, 4 bed, big yard etc out Suk 105 thousand or something, almost in never never land for 20k, and a friend has a 2 bed for 5k and another had a 4 bed for 10k, so what you are looking for you should find. Only problem is that if you are looking for modern, trendy etc, you are more likely to find that closer to town.
Last year before we took this place, I had my eye on a very nice 3 bed apartment soi 31 or thereabouts for 35k and another in soi 8 I think for 33k, so look about and ye shall find.
Best idea is to hook up in a serviced apartment for a week or 2 and then do some serious shopping around. I was about to do some serious shopping and then we found this one, but I had a motorbike boy booked for a full day of touring every soi in Suk from '0' up to about '45' and checking in every apartment I liked the look of. Not a bad way to do it quick and cheap for 500 baht.

I have been renting a house in Soi 36 On Nut for the last few months at 10, 000 Baht plus water, power etc per month. Four bedrooms, two with aircon, two shower rooms, one Western, one Thai style.
This will actually become available in a month or two as I have been renting with the TGF and this relationship is winding down.

Thanks for starting to drop some tips.. I actually have a one bedroom that I rent (when i'm in bkk, not now though boohoo!!) at Thong Lo for 5k a month. I want to keep that and get a house too.. I wish I could jump on that one saisat but I wont be back to like may2004.. but when I do get back with all my business in N. America wraped up I will be based out of bkk for years to come.. so I am feeling it out early to be on top of things.. kharp mak for the ideas and personal set ups guys.. keep it coming the more I know early the better... oh yah I know what its like to check every soi.. me and a friend did suk Nana thru On Nut over the course of a week on foot in 2001... the one bedroom I found was a real gem worth the effort... I will put even more effort in on house hunting in the spring.
