Does anyone know of an agency or anywhere else you might go if you have had a realtor problem . I have a 90,000 baht deposit that has not been returned and the realtor will not speak with me . By the way its a farrang realtor . Is that legal ?

Go see a lawyer...they probably bank on you leaving and not being able to do anything about it. Have they offered you any reason as to why it won't be returned?.....Don't give up

Do you have a contract where it is clearly stated that the 90k must be returned to you upon leaving. Also did you stay the minimum contract time (6 months, 1 year)?

If yes, then Yurene is right, go to an lawyer.

Is the deposit for putting a bid in to buy a house? If it is, it could be the seller who is holding your money. You need to give a little bit more details. In any event, you should read through all your signed documents and see if you have breached any of the provisions, then consult an attorney who specializes in real estate.

More information required...

You bascially have 3 choices...

(1) Giving up
(2) Going to a lawyer
(3) Making life difficult for the developer so that he returns the deposit.

Depending on the circumstances any of the 3 choices might be appropriate. I would advise against rushing straight off to a lawyer - there is a fair chance you will end up with no deposit and a large legal bill.

My company specialises in buying distressed property projects from the banks and developing them, so I come across these problems all the time. If your farang developer is still in business or if his project has been taken over by someone else, there is a fair chance that you can get your deposit back. If he has gone bust, you are unlikely to get anything.

There are no free advisory services that I know of.

Feel free to PM me if you like.
