So New Phetburi Road is supposedly a zone under the new 'zoning laws'
I just dont see how this area qualifies as a zone - there are a few manky MPs there and that is about it. (Oh yeah and Tony Roma's used to be there).
I mean if you make very liberal use of the term New Phetburi you could perhaps include Ekamai and Thonglor but I dont think so....
Is there a large party scene in New Phetburi that we dont know about (or I dont know about) ?

Correct Smegma, but you see, the gov is granting the benefits of the new zoning system to Pat Pong only, not all Silom or Suriwong, areas that have much more to offer in terms of entertainment than Phetburi....so Abrak has made a good point, why Phetburi and not the popular hi-so area Thong Lor+Ekamai???

Isn't RCA on Phetburi Road...and didn't they include RCA under the Ratchadaprisek.....
though I agree wiith Smegma...I thought the original list was Ratchada, Silom and RCA (Phetburi)

Caronte, I never said Abrak was not making a good point. I didn't comment on it. I just answered his question. RCA is what was intentionally included in the zoning. I didn't said the decission makes sense or not.

Probably because Thong Lor and Ekkamai are also major resedential areas....and also Thong Lor police need to keep alive a nice source of income....

im thinking that new petcheburi rd zones includes the RCA area.i know its not on this road but its in the same sort of area,maybe zone.just my thoughts.ive not read any specifics (boundaries) of where the zones are.

The article in the Nation implies that RCA is included in the Rachadapisek zone. I guess it is very possible that the newspaper has got it wrong.
But RCA is such a shadow of its former self - most people can hardly name anywhere there except Route 66 and Forte. You can now park on the street next to any bar/club there are so few customers. It is hard to see it warrants a zone all to itself.
