For a change, I am not talking about the 4 stooges.
Everyday I see various things which make me wonder, but then you think it is their country, they can do what they want and as they please. But, it still does not stop you from thinking it could/should be done another way.
Even as a comment of encouragement, if it was done this way, surely it would be better off.
Anyway, today kinda blew me away, I managed to call this person a stoopid idiot to their face and could not believe what I was hearing.
I took my boy to a bowling alley, it had a special section for kids, a few mini lanes and smaller balls ( I said I would not mention JNF, but..) anyway, I walked past the counter and stood looking at the kids bowling, but still a signifigant ways from the actual alley.
A lady who spoke ok english came to me and said, 'Sir you have to go and pay over there' I said' I just want to have a look first' she said, 'you cannot look, have to pay and then you can look' I said, 'what you talking about, you mean I cannot have a look from here to see if I want to take my boy to play' she said 'no', I said are you a complete idiot and walked off.
I went back 10 minutes later with my missus and we stood looking, here comes the bitch I say and she tells me again the same and then in thai to missus. Missus tells me, I confirm that we cannot even look, missus smiled and said 'No', she knew what was about to come as I questioned her to make sure we cannot even look to see if we want to play or not and 'No' was the answer again.
My missus walked off and I asked the lady 'would you prefer me to have a little look from here and decide if I want to take my family to play here and therefore pay you REAL MONEY' or would you prefer that you tell me I cannot look and because I cannot look, I will not even bother to want to play and I will never even bother to come back any other time in the future. She said 'you cannot look at all and directed me over to the cashiers desk' I looked her in the eye and called her one of the biggest idiots I have met and what a fcuking stooopid lot of people you are.
I did say it calmly, so I guess that counts for something.
Honestly, it really has me fcuked here some times.

That is sooo typical. I love it. And it reminds me why we live here. Amazing Thailand. 18 years, and I am still Amazed. Unseen Thailand. Never seen anything like it. Life is never ever dull in LOS. Just when you think you have seen it all.............

a good mate of mine calls it the "one track mind syndrome", i.e. NOT thinking on your feet or out of the box and just repeating some policy over and over again w/o thought of consequences for the outcome  , 555

After arguing with the seller that I wanted to pick the item and look at it before deciding to buy..... I ended up leaving because he wouldn't let me touch the item.

It was classic.....two assistants then escorted me out of the shop.

Was in New YorK last year, went into an electrical shop in Times Square to buy an electric shaver, had left mine at home.
An Indian chap was serving me...I pointed the one I wanted out to him,was about $80 and said -I'll take that one.
He then said to me-You don't want that one, this one is much better- was $200 dollars plus.
Just pointed out to him that I was there for 3 days, had left mine at home and the other would be fine.
Wouldn't have any of it- I said forget it so he backed down, tore the price off the box and then scanned the other box and tried to charge me $200 for the cheaper one!!!!!
Went to the drugstore and bought a pack of disposables instead.

yes fine examples, but when they happen 3 or 10 times a day here, you really have to wonder. Anyway, my missus tells me to stop raggin on em so much lately, maybe I am just stressed, maybe I need a holiday.

I went in to get my visa for Burma today, they told me to wait in line after I stood at the window with no one there waiting, I said what line, the 30 people sitting around the room were in a line, I said fcuk that and left. Guess I am not going to Burma, besides, had to catch a plane at 8am on Saturday, thats the weekend and to damn early anyway. Going to Chiang Mai instead..... Oh fcuk, how stoopid is that, Chiang Mai is still in Thailand.
