Hi all,
Just after information about serviced apartments around the ratchada area. Planning a trip to BKK late february 2002. I want to be as close to the New Cleopatra as possible and planning to bring lots of girls home, so I guess serviced apartments is the right choice, unless there are hotels which allow you take more than 1 guest home if you have booked a twin.

Osiris - I stayed at the Centerpoint Hotels (serviced) in Sukuhmvhit and Silom. They are really nice, modern, clean and have great security. I even got upgraded into a palacial 2 bedroom apt. I had no problems bringing back girls, although I did see some older farangs getting hassled at the front desk (requesting IDs, more money, etc) It helps to establish a good rapport with the front desk crew and the doormen. It also helps if you match your date so you could pass as a viable couple and it isnt blatant what is going on. Even with 2 guests, the front desk workers just gave me a knowing smile as I walked by. As everything else in Thailand, if you treat them with respect, you can expect the same in return. Good luck!

The above reply is a good one. One good place that I've stayed in is the President Park on Sukhumvit Soi 24. Very clean and spacious, and reasonable rates. The doormen/security were friendly and I had a good rapport with them - tipping them and giving them cigars now and then. Treat them with respect and they'll go a long way to look after you. Only downside to the President Park is that it's a long way down Soi 24 - too far to walk to get to Sukhumvit. They have free hourly shuttles during the morning. Otherwise, it's still only a 30-35 baht cab ride.

I ALWAYS stay at President Park - and agree with MT except its only 10 mins walk from Sukhumvit which unless your ultra lazy is not too far. It joins Skvit very close to Soi 33 if that's your bag and but theres a Skytrain station there (Phrom Pong) so everywhere is easy access really. NEVER had a problem taking girls - HUGE bed HUGE bathroom, cable TV, stereo etc and a kitchen to boot. At 1,800 a night its great value.

Then there is the Grand President right behind Ambassador Hotel On Sukhumvit Soi 11. Owned by the same group as President Park I thin.

Grand President was highly recommended by one of my female friends. Has good facilities, hassle free and great location (near Nana BTS station).

Has anyone stayed at the Ambassador Royal Suite (not the hotel). I've searched around but couldn't find any references to it. Just wondering if it's a good place to stay and if it's 'girl' friendly.

sabaai.com is an ecellent agency, and gives a good overview on any kind of serviced apt., plus booking with them gives you lower rates then just walking in there yourself, they didnt pay me for this, just a satisfied clients opinion
