Can anyone please recommend a building with furnished apartments for 6 months from 1 January 2003.
Criteria are:
Modern apartment, for single guy, and occasional guest.
Furnished. Modern style. Probably just one bedroom or one bed and den/study.
Good access to CBD and skytrain - anywhere close to sukhumvit from soi 1 to soi 33
Price - up to Baht 55k per month
Facilities - pool and gym.

check all the president park buildings they are in this range. but mind you your spending bracket is much too high. for that sort of money you can also check in the most exepnsive places like emporium suites!
may be you also want to try some of the 4-5* hotels, i am sure they are keen giving a junior suite for six months on a thb 55,000 / month rate!
but why not look for a normal appartment through an agent and just rent it short time for six months, this will save you about at least half the money a month -> more left for booze and porn!

dude, you should check out the president park on soi 24/soi 22 intersection, it's the most contemporary of all the president parks, has by far the nicest pools and free access to arguably the best fitness club in town (from what i've seen).... the only thing i dont like is room services stops at 1:30am and i am working with americans online until 6:00am...
i get free sdsl 48k baht / month...

absolutely, it's brand new (I believe) and one of the nicest most decadent spas i've seen (i'll admit ive only been to spas at hyatt's across the world, no other chains)... The Ananda Spa it's called.... I use it all the time, minus the hottub because I get too turned on when the japanese businessmen are sitting around butt-naked

griffin, i KNOW you are rolling large, you say 55k is too much for a place? knowing you are a man of taste for the finer things in life, could i ask where you suggest one who plans to live here indefinitely should look for less, with the same or better quality of housing/living standards?

check the emporium suites in the emporium shopping complex.
depending on you requirements any appartment would be better!
my condo is about 140 sqm, 2 br, 1 huge living room, 3 baths, 2 balconies, kitchen, maidroom, fitness, pool, 22nd floor with breathtaking view on bangkok on soi 8. this condo goes for thb 30,000 a month including thb 2,000 credit for utilities. i have to admit i rented it 3 years ago just in the middle of the crisis and it is not a new building!
in case you only need 1 br there should be places around 20-25k available with the same standard!
just ask any agency. i used nancy real estate, this lady is very nice and helpful. also there are 2 estate agencies on suk around soi 24-26. i guess well worth a try too!

I would strongly recommend Centrepoint Apartments, where I stay every time.. They have 3 different locations..
Griffin: you sure Emporium Suites is only 30k/month? Sounds too cheap...

i didn't say that emporium is 30K a month, i only said it might be a better option than president park for the same money (55K). but there are also smaller suite in emporium for less!
nevertheless if you plan to stay longer than better get in a condo than staying in a serviced apartment!

Griffin, I like your priorites, and I will look for a furnished apartment rather than a serviced apartment.
To get me started - does anyone have any thoughts, good or bad, about the following blocks around Sukhumvit:
D.S. Mansion, soi 31
Montira Apt, Soi 31
Alta House, soi 4
Amar Garden, soi 2
Or any other recommendations ! And yes - I know I have to see them myself - just trying to narrow down the search !
