No your not.... It is no longer possible to gain a multiple entry B visa (since begging of June) unless you have proof of minimum wage payments (35k for me 20% so 6250k per month) and all papers in order..

I dont work.. I am retired but only 30.. Seems pretty crazy to set up a business, employ 4 Thais, pay thier social contributions, pay my minimum wage, etc to get a work permit and B visa.

The rules are getting much harder in the last 2 months.

Currently they will give you a single entry B visa and you then have 90 days to provide all the above and get an extention.

I was on a B last year.. My last stamp expires next week.. I have been frantically trying to solve this for a couple of months.

Hi LLOS,

You are the pefect candidate for Permanent Residency.

You are not a tourist or working here but want to live here 52 weeks per year. You are not married to a Thai, probably do not have property here but you want to remain and do whatever you want when you want.

I suggest PR is worth exploring. Some will tell you that it is only open to fathers of Thai children, major investors etc. This is bollocks of course.

Case 1 - German, 39yo, married to thai, employee, 2 children PR

Case 2 - German, 52yo, single, lease on land near Phuket, employee, PR

Case 3 - Aussie, 42 yo, married to thai, 1 child, employed, PR

Case 4 - Aussie, 55 yo, poofter, out of work, PR

Case 5 - German, 55yo, married to German, 3 children, employed PR

Case 6 - Brit, 52 yo, single, out of work, PR

Case 7 - Brit, 45 yo, living with maid, ex-wife is Thai, no kids, employed, PR

One thing they all have in common is that they spent some years here (about 4 or 5 in most cases) before applying. Not all had money, not all had Thai wives or children, not all had property here.

As you can see, a wide range of PRs here. I am not an expert on how they all managed to become PR when some of them just like Thai boys' bottoms.

Perhaps some of the bros who have PR could illuminate further?

Hi LLOS,

Just a quick question and please excuse my ignorance of the finer points of current visa practices.

Why was a Non-Imm Class O not appropiate?

I can understand a Class O-A was not available to a young man but why not a Class O?

Many thanks and good luck!!!!

There is a catch 22 to PR.. to get PR you have to stay 3 consecutive unbroken years here on non immigrant visa's...

I cant get any form of non immigrant visa.. !!!!

The O-A is for retirement (issued outside of Thailand)..

The O is for either retirement (800k in bank or 65k per month verifiable income) for the over 50's issued as an extension of another visa inside Thailand (so I understand) or for supporting a thai wife (400k in the bank or 35k (minimum wage) coming in from overseas income.

Neither of which help a 30 year old, with money, that does not want to marry a Thai.

I live here.. I bring large amounts of money here.. I spend it in the Thai economy.. They wont give me a visa of any form other than tourist which I am not prepared to go back to.

this is a policy a lot of governments pursue, i.e. throughout theEC, and I agree with you that it is total BS policy...

But unlike EC in Thailand there is usually a way to go around the rules. I opened a company in LOS and it was easier as I thought.
For details PM me.

yes, there visa system seems to suck a little, but you can look at it another way, it could be a lot worse and harder.
If a 55yo poof can get it, we should.
I have Imm 'O' for the last 2 years, but when you say 3 years of unbroken visa, does that mean not leaving the country, or just the visa being 3 years in a row and you can have left the country for short preiods.
I went to apply for a visa in support of a thai wife and thai child, but forgot I was not married, oops, and the child was born in Oz, so he did not qualify either, sh_t outa luck.

The consulate where I obtained my multiple entry, non immi B visa did not ask me to proof any of the above. Actually, I walked in, presented the papers and was out of there within 5 (!!!) minutes. Have seen several surprised faces since then. This included my laywer in Thailand... But it works for me. This gives me enough time to incorporate my new company and apply for WP. (I actually will be employed by the new company and we will have enough capital etc. to have the WP granted)

No. It means you have a consective period of VISA's. So if you have a one year VISA, but take off to Oz for a month to count kangaroos, but come back to Thailand it is OK. If you let the next VISA lapse for any length of Time, you are back to square one.

Anyone who complains about Thailand's VISA laws should try the USA's laws.
