Not so, banks will lend on condo's provided you have a real job in Thailand with Work Permit and verified that you are paying Thai Income taxes.
Well maybe you are right this would generally eliminate most of the farang population

Be real careful as to the condo purchase: overspeculation and devaluation due to real estate lows and bad property managment.
Many bro's here got in at good times then turned bad for rentals investments. They sold at loss to greater property manager. Thats how they make money spreads.
Best to get into newer worldwide contractor built and run. Buy new at lower prices then decorate yourself.

Buying condo at low prices and don't let marketers overspeculate prices in mind, to your condo demands from a certain place you wish to invest in. In other words buy property from good buillding code enforced constructor/ managed, cause if any of you were born around 1997, Thailand's construction crisis fell into hard economic times leaving projects half ass built cause investors and contractors split out of town leaving them in junk debt bonds to support the rest.
Do your homework suckers..... or you'll be taken.
