Quote: from don5252 on 2:06 am on June 12, 2006 the apt. i'm looking at charges 5B per unit for elec. does the owner/mgmt read the meter or a utl. company? one post stated manager may have been over charging how would you know?
You know by asking up front what is their charge for utilites. Next you ask yourself what is a reasonable price to pay [read profit for them] for their service. This is a market economy. They are, for the most part, brillianty fair capitalists here. Arm yourself with knowledge If you think they are overpricing their per unit cost then counter with a more fair price you are willing to pay.... And then either take it or leave it at that. My appt. complex charges 5Bt/unit. From what scuttlebutt I have heard they pay the utility company 2 or 3Bt/unit. I am okay with that.

actuallly it's in pattaya the Sawasdee Place also just a little unclear, I understand the baht per unit but how do you know how many units you've actually used & what the mgmt. says you used? & in Bangkok the Sathorn Tower has similiar pricing 7000b utl. included or 13000b everything pd both only ever have vacancies in low season right now leaning toward pattatya both have swimming pools & resturant, very important for me

1 - The inital position of the meter is recorded at the beginning of the lease. 2 - The meter is usually public (if it's not near your room, ask the management where the meter is). Just write down the initial meter and you can check the current position. Subtract.... and you get the number of used units.
