The Dusit and Hyatt both have properties there. And with this being the beginning period of slow season,you may get a reasonable price.

Have you thought about Bang Saen beach?
It is only a 1 hour drive from BKK, and is very clean and nice. Alot of reasonably priced Hotels right on the beach. Good food, good entertainment at night (not alot of p4p entertainment near the beach though). Bungalows available for the weekend also. It's a nice place that wont take you forever to get to.

I always wondered about surfing potential in LOS (board or body), I was always way too busy in BK or up at my spot in Lao. In a year I only got to the 'beach' once on a wk holiday at a friend's sister-in-laws guest bungalows/restuart thang on Ko Chang. Is there surf breaks anywhere maybe in the south like krabi or some where on the Adaman side??
