CalEden, Sorry to hijack this thread again. I've just read another article by Phil Mortenson on Stickmans reader submissions. Here's the link: http://www.stickmanbangkok.com/reader/reader579.html It's extremely well written, moving and poignant. It is also very revealing about certain Thai attitudes and beliefs. I hope everyone gives it the time it deserves. This guy is becoming my hero. Maybe he will write a book some day. Peace to all.

Good story!!! I think it is good to be confronted with a bit reality so once in a while. Becoming more active on the board ment a lot more talking about bars, girls, drinking etc. But a moment of reflection, taking in consideration that it is Christmas (for whatever that means to anyone of us), is always good. TT, thanks for the link!

I am not sure that this is rejection of farang per se as opposed to rejection of in-law. If you read the news here on a daily basis you will come accross many local family feuds where the surviving party fights the inlaws. It even happens in the same family among blood relatives; there are many cases of brothers fighting brothers, mothers suing sons, etc. I think this is not limited to farangs. Too easy and simplistic to say that because it happens to some farangs, it only happens to farangs.
