Hi Dr.,
Just wondering: Where do you get your food from. Are shopping at Jusco? I didn't see any hawker food stalls in the area or nearby. Do you have a car or motorbike, if not it really seems to be a bit of a hassle.
But I agree on the note, that a quiet place is not easy to find, however some apartments do have rules on that which are strictly enforced.

The apartment has a free motorcycle service which operates fine for 90% of the time. Going back by public motorcycle service (5 baht).
We usually venture out ot Jusco on Sundays. Rent some movies and buy bottled drinks in bulk. Going back by taxi (40 baht).
Sometimes we call the taxi service (02-6761000) to let us pick up at the apartment (20 baht surcharge).
Along Soi 42 (soi 9 to the beginning) there are 4-5 shops where you can eat or take away. The closest is about a 5 minute walk from the apartment (Soi 9).
Furthermore there are hawker stalls on Suk 71 (near 7-11). Not on Tursdays though.
It may look isolated, but if you know your way around it's not all that inconvenient.
In the last 10 years I've found out that quiet apartments in that price range are hard to find. Many have rules but the management/staff is too ignorant to enforce them.
Plus, as I said, I like the layout of the room. Two rooms with a connecting door which let me do my work while the GF is watching soap operas. THB 5000 for 43 sqm is hard to find in the Suk area.
