BUT I do think that the subject of this Thread is an absolutely illegal activity . So for the continuing long term good of this Forum I suggest that BK delete this entire Thread .
Meatyswg - Thaidup has given you some very good advice . Maybe you could PM him on this subject .
I do not think that this thread should be deleted. No one here is recommending that people use these services but there are a lot of people that have used them in the past and are rightly worried.
What they need now is practical advice and not being shunned into a dark corner like some black sheep of the family.
From a factual point of view, I do know a French guy in my apartment that was arrested flying to Laos because he used a KSR visa agent. He was due to start work there for the UN next month but because he wanted to stay an extra 3 weeks he may now be here for months awaiting trial and then maybe longer if he gets jail. He said 4 others were arrested that day and they were taken to the detention centre together before being released on bail.

I think you misunderstood me . I did not say or imply that this subject was not a reality . I did not cast any aspersions on anyone who has had to use these services - in fact I sympathise with them .
What I implied was that such Threads were dangerous to the continuing long term existence of this Forum .
Sure , there are a whole lot of other illegal activities ( some of which may be discussed on this Forum ) BUT discretion being the better part of valour I think that we should evaluate what the authorities may take umbrage at and avoid such topics .

Mr. Arramsey...as far as I am concerned and I have read the thread carefully, your approach has been completely advisory in nature and positive in its cautioning nature.
Without such advice and caution this forum may indeed suffer. After all if we all posted in Thai instead of the frank English we do, where would this forum be, but gone.
It is unfortunate that sometimes the real intention of our words becomes altered from their real meaning resulting in the difficulty you are experiencing on this thread.
It is the responsibility of all members of this forum to be self-censoring when wisedom suggests it would be practical.
This responsibilty, Mr Arramsey, I believe, as one member of this forum, you have carried out in a gentlemanly manner.
And whether Mr. BK deletes it or not, it was wise to at least alert fellow posters to the possibilities.

Geeez, what a bunch of girls blouses, best to go hide in the corner and pretend we didn't see it. What's wrong with advising others of what is going on, the good thing that may come out of it, is that nobody here would risk doing such a stupid thing as sending their passport on holiday with out them, after reading especially the post from Boomboom. So it's actually a good thing and not a very bad thing. Seems its ok to discuss a certain 17yo in a bar and not worry about deleting that thread, but get this one outa here. Worry warts.

I wasnt implying that you were casting any aspersions on people or denying it is a reality but there will be some people on the board who have used these services in the past and will need advice.
If you look as thaivisa.com for example the posts range from; a white person will be arrested at random when crossing a border, to dont worry, wait until next week and a deal will be done.
As long as we stick to facts and not wild rumours
a) it will be useful to everyone to know, especially if this is the only board they look at and have used one in the past
b) i wouldnt have thought that the authorities would be anymore interested in this site than they were before
I may be wrong - it does happen once a decade  but whatever, I will abide by BKs decision.

Well this story finally made the press today. TheNation is right on top of things and another Thai offical is shocked that fake documents were used

Correct me if I am wrong, but weren't both TheNation and The BKK Post the same papers that these services advertised in? Where were the officals then, getting a massage?
IMHO They should take the same approach as with the drug crackdown. Go after the big guys or sources. The end users should be slapped on the hand and pay a fine. Do it a second time and you are marked PNG and given the boot
