Hope I can revive interest in this thread which has been dead for several months. I'm looking to buy a 1 or 2 bedroom condo on my next trip to Bangkok at the end of the year. What brokers should I contact? CBRE is one obvious choice. What are the others. I don't really want to pay 120000 baht per sq meter if I don't have to. Someone mentioned saving money by buying a used condo because Thais overpay for new ones. That sounds reasonable to me. What are the names of brokers I should contact?

I have just secured a good unit for myself and the agent I went through was Hamptons. Good professional service, English speaking staff and they did a lot to help me get the unit of my choice. Website is www.hamptons.co.th

slowx I am about a year away from moving and needing to buy. But prices seem to be going up so fast that I am afraid of being priced out of the market so I thought I better buy now. So I could buy something that is being built but how do you know if the building will be maintained? I have seen a few condos that hadn't been painted since they were built, trash uncollected, laundry hung to dry in the hallways. I hoped if the building was already operating I could see if they were taking care of it. What do you think?

hard to tell. it all depends on your budget and location you are looking for. what is your budget psm? u can start by visting some of the realtor websites like hamptons, eve, acute, accom etc to get an idea of what u could possibly buy. make use of them.. my own opinion is that the market is softening but that has not stopped me from buying 1 unit at the recently launched empire place..

Foreclosures everywhere. Just do the homework. Dont let the Realators scam ya. Deals out there from the banks and repo's.

StrayGypsy Thats a good idea to purchase repos and foreclosures. How can I locate these deals? Is there a web site or do I just walk in to Bangkok Bank and ask for the repo dept. Thanks

Hi! Do you need to pay any commission to the agent? What are the documents does a foreigner need to produce in order to buy a condo in Thailand? What is the housing loan, minimum deposit & maximum loan that we can get from the bank? Thanks, Jira
