It is all about options. Sometimes I drive from the boonies to the Marriott hotel and park it because I can make it there in 30 minutes, but I could spend another 1 hour on the Sukhumvitt off ramp to get to Soi 7. So I park it and either walk or skytrain and/or subway. Ratachada (MP Alley) is a traffic nightmare. Thank God for the subway.

If you live directly in the city, then less need. Whatever you do. Do not buy a pickup truck, you will become everyone's professional mover.

I mentioned before to buy an SUV.

also make it an SUV that runs on Diesel fuel.

Diesel is subsidized, hence cheaper.

and you can't haul much in an SUV, besides BGs and a keg of beer...

SUVs aren't on the list to become "everyone's professional mover"

I agree about becoming everyones free moving service.

But where are you expected to park, in the uk there are endless carparks, but I can only remember seeing one at On Nut close to the sky train.

Parking in some small soi doesn.t appeal after seeing the speed that the taxis etc drive along these unlit roads
