Technically, no, I wouldn't think so. How is that work? Who exactly would that benefit but yourself? Does looking both ways before you cross the road count as work? Does helping a blind Thai cross the road count as work? (Hmmm...possibly ) Are you depriving a Thai of work by getting on a Skytrain on the side the doors open? Perhaps I should have spelled it out 'Work means to engage in activities, benefitting others, by exerting physical energy, or using knowledge, whether or not in consideration of wages, or other benefits' (the actual wording is on a Web site--and in a leaflet available from the Ministry of Labour--somewhere), but as I'm sure you know, if they really want to screw you they can and...er...will. That is, it's up to them 
There are (probably apocryphal) stories of people being deported for collecting a few beer glasses...I know someone who was told to leave Thailand or go through the whole deportation business because he was helping in the kitchen of a beach restaurant in return for board and lodging (a long story).
Remember, prostitution's illegal in Thailand, for both parties. You could get knicked and deported for paying a BG money for sex. I've never heard of it happening, but stand on a drunk Thai policeman's foot and who knows? Or pick up a BG from a bar where the owner is arguing about the amount of tea money he's paying and the police want to make a 'big point'--bigger than knicking all the BGs and who knows? Spit at a Thai police sergeant and get shot dead? Stranger things have happened...
