DG,, I like the "steady and safe investment", excellent financial advice.
It reminds me of my fathers strategy on investments in the Australian stock exchange. He listened to so many " big big profit idealists" but settled on a steady/safe investment.... St George Bank. The intitial investment of 40,000 shares @ $4.56 each has returned over the years a meagere average of 7% ( fully franked dividend per year) ) but the strategy of "steady and safe" has seen the share price rise to near $29.50. So as all can see "steady and safe can be very lucrative in the longer term".
Cheers,, now if I can actually manage to live longer than him ( doubtful with my life style) I will reap the rewards of his thinking.
In case some are interested,,,, he feels that the best SAFE AND steady" investment is with Bendigo bank.
No gaurantee just an experienced opinion.

I think the best field to go into so you can live in the location of your choice would be to trade the forex market. Study the correct books for six month to year, practice demo trading…not using any real money. Pick a system that trades reversals, there are a bunch out there and stick with it. Open a mini forex account, which you can open for as little as 300.00 U.S although you will need at least 1.5K to give your self some room. You should make 2k to 3k U.S. a month tax free. That should be enough to hang out in Thailand.
You could also ship goods back to the U.S. and sell them at a profit, buying and selling is what makes the world go around. I have got and idea for getting suits made in Thailand and shipping them back to the states, I just have to learn how to take the correct measurements. Not to mention a nice watch with every suit sold!!

I was wondering. A fellow dude I know in Singapore wants to teach English in BKK. The dude has no English Degree but like myself, he has an Engineering Degree. Currently, he teaches Physics and English to High School students in Singapore. He has a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (High School) from the National Institute of Education in Singapore.
What are my friend's chances to teach English in BKK without a Bachelor's degree in English?

Ahh you can take a course or work outside BKK they accept anything. I know some africans that works up and down in Thailand. Not that I ever want to teach but the salary is the same from 20 000 - 30 000 for english. Once in the system take students home for extra work is not as problem.
