Next year I be looking at staying 6 months in LOS. Yep,, I'll just be asking for the tourist visa multiple entry as I may decide to spend a week or two in Vietnam, and maybe a week or so in Cambo. I imagine at worst, they will just want to see some dollars in bank account to show I'm "liquid". Mel

should not be a problem to get a 6 month tourist visa in your country. not sure about the multiple entry. you might have to leave after 3 month. and if you leave any other time just get a re'entry at immigration or at the airport. rtb

Having guided many people over the years to come to Thailand for the purposes of work and business,I must say that the most difficult and problematic Thai Embassy abroad has always been the Thai Embassy and Thai Consulates in New Zealand. They've always proved to be a pain. Anyone got different experiences from them ? I'm not talking about securing an ordinary tourist visa from them. That is usually straight-forward.

Joe,, As with most things you need to understand " the system". Ok, you want something at Thai immi9garation etc,, slip 2,00 BAHT in the application,, you want something in NZ,, slip a good looking lamb over the counter Mel. Back to topic,, no never even been to NZ.

Hi Mel, Thanks for the tip on tips. I don't think all the teams at Suan Plu work that way, even the ones in suspender belts and black sockings. That's why they rotate the teams so often. As for slinging the occasional lamb over the counter in NZ, well, that would be the applicant's perogative. Having a couple of NewZealand friends, I can say that if they have a favourite lamb or two, they seem very reluctant to part with them for some reason. And I don''t know how partial the NZ Thai Embassy staff would be to used lamb. Any idea?

What you you call a sheep in a new Zealanders backyard????? A ride-on lawn mower. How do you know if a New Zealander has been in your fridge??? Love bites on the leg of lamb. AHHH,, second hand lambs, used or abused? ,, I guess they have their GOOD lambs and there Bier garten type lambs:>) Probably even have SOL and Eden type lambs. Large sheep farms are called Nana carpark. Ok, enough crap, I have no idea why the NZ embassy can be difficult. Maybe they've got bloody Aussies working there!!!! Mel P.S Aussies and NZers always joke like the above,, it's harmless banter,, one just needs to look back at ANZAC to know that we are actually friends.

Actually according to Thai law, you are working two jobs. One as a computer consultant and two as a tour operator.
As you all are so interested in my private life, I am happy to let you all know that I no longer work as a computer consultant nor as a tour operator.

Quote: from cris4700 on 10:26 pm on Mar. 19, 2008 If I leave country 40 days into 60 day visa, didn't I waste 20 days and now I'm on the 30 days entry program?
Naw, it is 90 total days in a floating 180 days. For example this month I went to LOS three times, 2 days, 5 days, and 2 days again. This means that between now and the end of August I can spend 81 more days in LOS under that program (give or take a few days )...
