Ah,
This explains why he is so interested in seeing the 90 in 180 go away. His business is in repetitive visa runs and not in getting clients 1-Year visas.
This also begs a conflict-of-interest in reporting visa news...

It doesn't really matter if he's interested or not... he can't change it.

The question is not whether he can change it or not. The question is that as an information source is he credible.
By passing rumors like this more long-term visitors arriving fresh in LOS will take a the option of a Visa Exemption instead of using the more suitable one year visa.
By spreading this rumor Jack Golf will snag several more customers that he may have not had. They will do the 3 visa runs and then "Oops! Ya gotta get a one-year visa in Penang."
This is what is meant by a 'conflict of interest'...

Yes.a few times. Also on my last trip (last Friday) there were a couple of overstayers on the bus.... processed with no problem.
All Jack's group customers will be allowed to go through a special channel even before the exit stamps are given.

just Jack Golf unfortunately told my friend that with his nationality (Montenegro/Ex Yugoslavia) he is not eligible for the services and must return to his home country to obtain a visa...

Yes, some nationalities are not allowed to enter on a visa exempt (30 days) stamp.
