... so... let's say you have a business in Thailand... congratulations... these would be your customers, employees, vendors, book keepers, consultants, all... 70+% buy into corruption... even your in-laws, and a good possibility your wife (often co-opted by her mother, father, siblings, while living within their close reach and under their influence).
... live here, sure... but, make your bones before you move here... expect to lose money you invest in a Thai business involving Thais on either side of the balance sheet... few here make any enduring money.
... I would not do it unless I were a seasoned veteran of Thailand, experienced in the certain corruptions of the Thai business culture... Thai greed is far greater than the Buddha... there are many reasons for that (another thread).

Thais are basically an inbred race and not only are they corrupt, they are low on the IQ score too.
Great place to visit, but not a great place for business. This is why the Chinese mixed in here many years ago.... the only way to have a successful business is to run the country, control the wealth...

Very few people understand the business oportunities that exist in Thailand, and there are a bunch of them, but it is does not involve bringing a Western conceived business into the Thai culture, or entering the may ventures that flood the market with competition. It involves exploiting the raw materials Thailand has to offer in ways not yet exploited.
To do this one doesn't just have to understand how corruption works in Thailand, you've had to live it your whole life, to the point that it is second nature, and you no longer have to think about it.
You have to play the game as good, or better than a Thai, and if you've grown up with it in your life it is actually real easy to exploit Thais as they do not see it coming from a foreigner. As they are trying to scam you, your hand is in their pocket already.
Very few know how to do this, or have misguided western morals that prevent them from doing it. The secret to making it in any country is to adapt to the way things are done already, not expecting to change those you do business with, you'll be eaten alive.
Think cheap labor, and exportable product. Every major business coming into Thailand operates with that in mind, and it is easy to ride on what they establish as business procedure, and legality wise. There are many many products that can be made here, and most don't involved that large of an investment to start.
One small part in anything assembled that you can supply cheaper can make you very wealthy, and Thailand gives you that ability if you do the work setting up, and finding a product you can undercut someone on. There are lots of them if you do the research. Its called capitalism, and exploitation, and Thailand is a ripe feeding ground with plenty of raw materials, and the oportunity to exploit them.

The most important thing you need in Thailand if you want to do business is the backing of a very influential Thai who can out trump all the other scamsters trying to do you out of your investment. Of course for this you will have to pay and have to pay a lot one way or another.
It really aint worth it. Far easier to make money else where and spend it in Thailand. Who needs the headaches of trying to make money where all the odds are completely stacked against you.
