How am I going to tell you what it is you are saying?
Listen pal, most of us normal guys do not go putting words in other people's mouths. So, I am not going to be the one telling you what it is you say. If you do not know yourself, perhaps you are in need of some help.
Anyway, this is going overboard and turning into threadf***ing to the extreme. But of somehow poor quality. Thus for the sake of all other members reading this, I will stop here. See, Finnochio, now I'm not sure if you actually looked 'stereotype' up, or if you provided this bit of entertainment failing to do so?

... in other words, you coudn't have characterized yourself any better: "conventional, formulaic, and oversimplified"
You really ought to work a bit more on your education, especially the primary foundation -- you know, Reading, Writing, Arithmetic (though, frankly, you can drop the numbers, as they might be too confusing).
Really surprising you passed muster with such a poor grasp of the English language. Usually, failing upwards only works in the United States for folks like yourself. Might want to consider that when your tenure comes to an end.
By the way, this thread is about issues of 'living in Bangkok', not linguistic failures, so you might want to take your personal neurosis' to the appropriate section, na? (Though, in a twist of further irony, you are wonderfully illustrating the gist of this thread's subject matter)

Honestly, CalEden has got it nailed there - "When in Rome..."
It's not like any of these idiosyncrasies come as a surprise to anyone in these threads, yet they never seem to fail to frustrate people to no ends.
You *KNOW* Mamasans lie to you about the girl's whereabouts; if they can't honor your coupon, but say 'next time', then so it is; etc...
I've learned, quickly I might add, to just smile about it and move on - "mai pen rai" seems to be the key here. I mean, let's be honest - is it worth the frustration and resultant anger?
Not to me, especially if I consider such incidents to be part of the charm of the locale.
