Having been here for 7 months and seen my nightlife activities evolve, I'm curious as as to how often other guys who live in Bkk hit the nightlife each week.
When I arrived I was out everynight. But after a while, it simply got boring. Let's face it.. unless you're looking for a girl, gogo-bars have very few attractions. I don't think I've been in one since December, except to show the GF what they are all about.
Soi 33 bars? Yeah, very nice but they're all a bit 'same same' after a while. Pretty girl, glamorous dress, pool table...do others find them a bit boring also? Soi 22 / Washington Square is an interesting environment and I tend to wander there if i'm at a lose end, largely because most of girls are unlikely to tempt me. In fact, I tend to stick to bars where they know that I'm not in the market - that way you can have a chat and a beer or two, without having to through the inane, 'hello, where you come from, you pay bar me' routine.
Putting aside eating in restaurants, I find I'm probably wandering into a bar only twice weekly these days. And I'm happy to be home by 11.
I suspect I'm getting old....

That’s why I like contract work, because it allows me to pack my bags when it gets boring. Bangkok is especially prone to this because:
1.It has no music scene to speak of (not my kinda music anyway)
2.It has no underground scene to speak of (not my kinda underground anyway)
3.That ridiculous closing hour.
As I had my share in Manila and BKK I rarely venture into go-go bars nowadays. Even when I am in the mood for a snack, I will try my luck in Tapas or something similar. I can’t remember the last time I shagged 3 days in a row with 3 different girls. Where this was commonplace in the early days, it is out of my realm of desires now.
I still enjoy getting totally and utterly wasted every fortnight or so. But not on alcohol- certain veterinary substances give much better results.

I like to spend 2 or 3 nights in a week but even then I rarely go to bed before 1.00am.
What with Pattaya, Samui, Phuket and Bangkok, I never get bored. In fact when I go abroad I am always eager to get back. The key is to have some quality friends and a wide selection of girl friends.

And a lot of money.
First 6 months I was there I was out every night. Turning up for work wasted. Shagged every decent (and some not) girl in NEP. Then it calmed down a bit to weekends and a couple of nights a week. Then after a couple of GF's the last 3 years it was only weekends.
Its not getting old. Its being more selective with your time and money and the "been there done that" effect.

If you drink enough piss while you're out, you completely forget most of the night. Therefore you feel as though you never went out at all. Which in turn makes you want to go out and enjoy yourself again, even though you already have.

Even though I am only 10 min away from cowboy or nana I probably on go to one or the other once every 2 to 3 weeks now.
Been here about 6 months and the first 2 or 3 months when I wasn't really working was go to nana or cowboy atleast 5 nights a week (I was also living across the street from Soi Cowboy).
In general I don't like to bring girls back to my apartment so usually go to a st room somewhere.
A lot of the time I think about going but am just too lazy to deal with it all (getting dressed, brushing teeth, walking up steps to sky train, etc.).
I recently joined the Pent Club and I like just relaxing there. I think I am turning into an old asian man.
On the other hand its been about a week since I got laid, and I have been working non stop for a couple of days, so I ran over to barons this afternoon...
We will see what the deal is in a few years, I still feel pretty new here...

Perhaps I should point out that although I go out at least 4 or 5 nights a week, I only really go to the P4P places - NEP, Patpong - 4 or 5 times a year.
I am really into the dating scene and the clubs and restaurants. More interest, more challenge and more fun. People naturally bore of the P4P scene pretty quickly when they live here.
It seems to me to be mostly a tourist thing and an anachronism at that. Who needs a bar to act as an intermediary between you and TGs in the age of the mobile phone and internet.

I myself am a bit of a HomeBoy, I have a nice place and I like to use it.
I entertain, have BBQs or just sit around outside on the verandah.
Some afternoons I nip down to 'Lung Cha's' little wooden shop in the village and gas with a couple of mates.
I tend to over do it when I am out so I try to keep myself together by doing it at home.... that way I crawl into bed after a hike up the stairs, not a dangerous bike ride home. I quit when I am bladdered not smashed, less of a hangover this way too.
Plus I don't 'do' bar girls anymore, I am more into soapies and massge girls.
Not exciting I know but I lived in Pratong for 3 years and have just about had my fill of Beer bars and girls.
