Has anybody made experience in moving a seafrieght container of stuff to LOS?
Any information considering the related procedures is highly appreciated. (customs etc?)

use a local broker in your neck of the woods who also has an office, or partnership, at the port of destination. they will streamline the procedure for you at a nominal fee. moreover, if you don't fill an entire container, they may help defray some costs.
overall, it's not a difficult procedure so long as you aren't sending anything that thailand deems illegal.

Thank you guys, info appreciated.
Selling goods from Asia to Europe with FCL is my business, so I know who to contact for the seafreight.
I thought an international mover would only raise my cost, of approx. 5000 USD dor to door from Germany to upcountry LOS.
I am only worried about Thai customs to overcharge me as I will bring antique bone china as well as some new and almost new household appliances, i.e. fridge, plasma TV etc.

make sure to indicate (as you know) that all the items you are shipping are USED. antiques shouldn't be charged any duty, but stranger things have happened. the big tv may be assessed some duties though.
using a forwarder or similar is helpful only in that it takes a lot of the hassle away from you. but it is possible to do the paperwork yourself, if you speak thai.

I was thinking about moving to LOS but bringing in some Cisco routers and switches. Even though they are used... will there be a lot of "duties/ taxes" on them?

If I were to do that...then I would have to purchase a few extra suitcases because they can be heavy after so many. But, if I bring them in my suitcase... I wont be charged?
Is it safe doing this... Im thinking if they open my luggage and see routers... they would possibly take it away from me. Some can be as expensive as 2k each while others are 50$. Plus all the cables. Im just worried bc one time I got stopped from going to LAX to Chicago and they stopped me and took me to the airport police station... they didnt know what it was so they called it a "suspicious looking device".

Last time I came in I carried loads of dutiable goods, one in a large box that might have well been stamped 'dutiable goods'. (actually it said JVC), inside it contained a JVC VCR, a DVD players, 3 hard drives, motherboard, all sorts of bits and pieces that are liable for duty.
They took a glance at it, but didn't stop me.
I've never seen anyone stopped at customs, until this weekend, they were X Raying some blokes bags at customs.
Up to you what choice you make, but depending on the size, getting searched is nigh on guaranteed not to happen.
