Hey guys!
Well in a couple of months I will be going to Bkk for an extended stay, basically to be with my girlfriend!
I mean it sounds great to me! A chance to unwind for a few month enjoying the finer things in life with a lovely young thai lady who I have known and visited over the past 2yr!
If I think too much about it I wonder what she expects from me, if she really is no longer 'working' (yes I am sponsoring her), what will it actually be like living with her for longer than 2wk at a time! Im an easy going guy and hope she is doing as she says but I am well aware of all the stories I have read on this forum about us guys being taken for a ride. Having said that I think the experience of being with her over there is worth the small investment I have made so far! And if it turns out I am a mug then what the hell - lifes for living aint it!!
Incidentally, initially I will be there for 2mth before I return to the UK for a very short period, before returing to Bkk once more for a further 2-4mths depending on how things go. Will I be able to do this by applying for a tourist visa for the first 2mths and then another when I go back?
So any thoughts you older and wiser out there may have will be appreciated!

60 day Tourist Visa - yes. You can get another one issued immediately on return to the UK for your next trip. When you're in BKK, 30 day extensions are available at the Immigration Office in Suan Plu Rd.
I seem to remember it's about 1800 baht and you need two passport photos. Loads of info at http://www.thaivisa.com

That short trip back to the UK would seem like a perfect opportunity to get TPE to check on her work etc so you can continue with a little more certainty.

And as long as you get a picture of reality, that period will also give her a chance to reconnect with her other regulars. So everyone's happy!!
Like Abrak's comments, hilarious and probably the truest... no matter which girl you hook up with here, there are a zillion more. So you'll figure out your own strategy for having fun (read: having your cake and eating it too). Or is that the advice you were asking for?

Back before I found my current g/f I lived with a sponsored former MP girl for about a month and boy did I learn a lot about the scene. She had a revolving door of customers and sponsors who came and went. I'm pretty certain your girl doesn't have just you as a sponsor because that's just the way it works in Thailand. If she's willing to have one then she's willing to have three unless you're a millionaire living with her up in the hills somewhere even then it's not so certain  .

This totally depends on how small your investment is. It's not really the monetary investment that burns most people it's the emotional one. Remember that and tread carefully.
I know plenty of girls who run the sponsor scheme and it always ends up in disappointment for the sponsor. The girl really doesn't care that much unless you are planning on marrying her, even then why would you marry a hooker?

Answer: Living hell, lol! Okay, just kidding, been living with my TGF for 6 month periods on and off for a couple of years now. I think the better response is: "an exercise in patience and duplicity."
After all, you going to need to structure things such that you can slip out for the occassional soapie. You have been warned...
