Making themselves at home in Thailand

Oversea residents of Bangkok gathered to celebrate the launch of Expat Society 2006.
Thailand's Tatler, the leading English-language magazine, threw an elegant party to introduce the first edition of Expat Society 2006, a comprehensive annual who's who of the 300 most prominent expatriates in Thailand at the newly-opened Three Sixty bar of the Millennium Hilton hotel.
The celebration welcomed respected members of the foreign community, both long-time and new arrivals. David and Carolyn Tarrant, John van der Linden, Colin Hastings and Lady Lea Laarakker were among prominent residents who made an appearance. Singer Gayle Arvetta Brown and pianist Mark Peter Verwymeren entertained the guests with music. Chairman Nigel Oakins and editor-in-chief Naphalai Areesorn gave a brief welcome speech, and prizes were given away to lucky winners.
