Just read on thai visa that it seems to be difficult obtaining a 60 days tourist visa in for example Penang/SIN/KUL/Pnomh Penh/Hanoi/Rangoon.
Having soon used my 3x30 days im starting to worry a little. Thought about going to Rangoon to do it but hear stories about that they ask for onward tickets, bank statements to proof you withdraw money in Thailand and dont work illegal etc.
Until recently I thought it was a no pain experience but just a hassle to have to go far for it.
Does anybody know what is going on? Should you worry about it?

I know people who just did the run to Laos and had no trouble getting a 60-day tourist visa
after that, you can do another border run or two before having to go out and get another 60-day visa
I would suggest going to a different consulate for the second 60-day visa
|

In September I got the 60 day tourist visa in Ho Chi Minh City (saigon). Went to a consulate at 2.p.m., was told to come back at 3.p.m. the next day to pick it up. I had downloaded an application formfrom the internet, but they insisted I use one they hand out there. No other problems- it took less than 5 minutes to fill out their form.

Just got back from Penang. No problem at all. 10 minute application, next day finished.
But note this was the first time, perhaps the second time will
be harder.

would be a little silly to do... you can get another 30 days
here in Bkk, then do another 3 visa runs.

I've heard that if you did your VOA runs to the Cambodian border, they might refuse you a visa in Phonm Penh.
Burma.... dunno...

Planning a trip to Laos or Vietnam and getting a 60 day tourist visa. I just finished with my 3 entry tourist visa from my home country. Based on what I've read here, both sound okay. Can't find any info on thaivisa.com. Anyone have any problems recently in either places? Do I get my visa at the consulate in Saigon? Thanks.

No one responded. I went to Vientiane, Laos, dropped off passport in the morning, picked up 60 day tourist visa next day. No problems getting it there. Bring a copy of your main passport page and your Laos visa stamp.
