To alll, thank you for all your great posting. I had been to bangkok a couple of times and alway had a great time. I am planning going back in June. I would like to know what is cost to hire a private car and driver and where to book them.

I hired a cab from 8AM til Midnite and went from BKK to Pattaya (about 250 miles RT) and paid 2100 Baht. Took a private car and paid about 1400 baht but it was one way and drop off. Don't recall how I got in touch with the private driver.

I regularly hire a car and drive around the country, can get one for 1000bt to 15000 per day, - probably would have to pay 500-600bt more for a driver, - if you like email me as to what you have in mind, maybe can help.

The driver I usually hire is more expensive then the ones that have been talked about. I pay him $100 U.S per day including tip. But, the nice thing is that he drives a mercedes and also has contacts with the Military, since he was in the military. So, safety is never and issue anywhere. But, he has personable personality and always is polite and professional with the females in the car. It's nice to use when getting picked up at the airport, because he gets one of his military friends to meet you at the baggage claim area and take care of your bags. But, I digress.
