I'm considering changing up my 2.5yr old 2.7 Petrol Fortuner for a diesel MU7 Platinum or a new Averto fortuner.

I really like my fortuner, but the fuel consumption is an utter joke and with the increase in fuel prices it makes sense to change, but I can't decide on the devil I know or the devil I don't.

Toyota servicing have been amazing, fantastic in fact, no issues at all. the car is fun to drive although a little bumpier than I expected it to be (understand that has been fixed on the new model), also if you look closely you see the finishing could be better, eg. screws inside the inner door handle exposed with no plastic cover, there's other small stuff like that, but what can you expect for the price.

The Averto and the Mu7 Platinum both come with the DVD/TV screens, rear aircon, leather interior etc.

Isuzu is about 150K less than fortuner, also Isuzu are offering me 800K for my Fortuner, Toyota will only offer 725K !

So, I would like owners or at least drivers of either of these 2 motors to chime in with their thoughts...

The other reason for asking you guys for help is that I have been to several dealers of each now and none of them have a demo model I can test drive ! obviously I will keep looking but to expect someone to pay 1.2million without a drive first is.....well I guess its logical, to Thais !

I have both the Fortuner Diesel and the MU7.
The Fortuner is much better driving, the MU7 is too havy and feels stiff. I realy dont like driving it at all.
Bought the Fortuner 3 years ago(August) and was offerd 800 for it by Toyota in Pattaya. I am buying the Camry hybrid now. Choosed to sell my Fortuner privatly at a better price. I bought the MU7 as second hand(less than 2 years old) and payed 700K.

Thanks VikingBlood, you're reinforcing other opinions I've heard that the MU7 has nothing on the Fortuner. Sounds like I need to play hard ball with the Toyota dealers on my exchange value though, mine is a younger version and I've been offered a lot less ! Is yours a diesel or petrol ?
