Near Silom and with river view you can check the new RCK Tower.
It is a monster (50+ floors) but location is really good. It is near Shangrila, walking distance to Silom, and you have amazing views from the appartments.
A firend of mine have bought a condo there but I guess they also have serviced appartments.

Hi all,
I just survei three choice apartment / condo for my new place. But quite confusing which is better, Rompo Mansion (Khlongtoey area), Baan Sukhumvit, and SKM Apartment. For SKM I quite interest but the water price seems too horrible, is it true 300 Baht per unit? Or just 300 Baht per month? Because in my old place at NS Tower for water price only arround 300 baht per month and this already full bathtub every time I take a bath.

Water per house connection in central Bangkok is 800 Baht per month and you can suck as much water as you can out of the pipes.
300 Baht MUST be per month or you would be bankrupt.
From memory the cost per m3 for metered bussineses is about 4 or 5 Baht/m3.

From your question re: apartment or condo I take it you are thinking about teh advantages of a condo.
Have you considered a house? These are cheaper than condos but more expensive than apartments.
Houses can still be had in Sukhumvit for about 25,000 Baht and condos for 30,000 up but apartments start at nearly nothing for one room say 4,000 Baht up.
